I think it also happened in another Thanos story, an I.G.Thanosi (basically a reality warping replica of sorts) is projected by I.G. Thanos through time to observe himself and fix any issues. Past Thanos, being Thanos, attacks the Thanosi to get the I.Gauntlet so he can get a head start and avoid defeat.
It's pretty amusing since he knows himself well and was okay with it.

The "death" stone isn't actually an infinity gem (why do they keep calling them stones? They're literally gemstones) it's just a conduit for the reality gem to start killing Thanos without him being aware to retaliate.
Though really his others should still give him perceptiveness to avoid that, whatever the case I feel the idea wasn't bad it just needed presentation. A Death Stone for Thanos is actually something rather poetic, just lacks the right angle here since it's so quickly addressed and glossed over. Too much deliberation of course would be excess, but I still can't help feel something was lost in significance between her brevity and bragging. Especially with her bringing up Thanos psychology but then that going nowhere.
I bring that up because fun pseudo-fact, The Infinity Gems are most likely based off metaphysical philosophy concepts. Figured it out while browsing Wikipedia and recalled hearing that Starlin, who re-invented them from simply being Soul Gems, actually took a psychology course at one point which influenced his writing and re-invention of Thanos (Thanatos which in psychology can refer to the Death Drive, an impulse for death and self-destruction), Eros, (death drive opposes Eros in psychology), Death and Adam Warlock.
Anyway if you go to the Index of metaphysics you'll find Mind, Reality, Soul, Space, Time but no Power. I'm sure there's a reason for that if someone asks him, but 5 out of 6 isn't bad though.

That said holy fuck this was good, why isn't Duggan writing Cosmic? His Nova also made me love Sam and he balanced nicely Sam's life with the space stuff. Honestly he should be writing Star-Lord or GotG.
