Because it was one of the first show to do the whole baby thing and the writing was actually kind of funny.
The whole "baby____" thing went to shit when people started to copy it and the idea was run into the ground as a trope.
Look at something like Baby Looney Tunes. Boring garbage that's not even funny. Literally just "looney tunes as babies". Actual babies are not funny.
