Out of those four, Pacifica has by far the best character development.

>>
>>77320546
because it is so realistic, there is at least a handfull of "top bitch" women in every highschool, and then also in every office.

its such an accepted cliche because its so prominent, women are basically horrible beings when they are in control, so they default to "awful bitch" once they gain social power and status.

it isn't that there are alot of mean bitches just by chance, its that women become mean bitches once they "run things" socially.
>>
Bottom right for sure.

>>
>>77320546

Because stories naturally focus on conflict, and it's only fun when the opposition wields some power. Cliche or not, cheerleaders and jocks have that power. We don't need to see the rest of the cheerleaders who ignore the main character because there is no conflict. We don't need to learn about the nobodies who don't get along with him because it isn't a fair fight.

Animators tend to be nerds/autists, this is their way at getting back at their bullies. There is no caste in school in the 2000s.

>>

>>77320684
That's not really true at all. "Top Bitches" tend to gravitate toward their positions, more than those positions create these kinds of people. It's the same thing with men in power, albeit not as intense in the social/interpersonal dynamic; a "Top Bastard" isn't as prone to collecting a squad of followers and debasing his perceived lessers and competitors as his female counterpart, but he'll still brutalise these people in his own way. Corrupt (or easily corruptable) and ruthless people are drawn to power at least as much as power turns people corrupt and ruthless.
>>
>>77320907
its because for men its "just business" putting emotion into it is pointless, only complete bottom of the barrel assholes go for the heart.

women ENJOY cutting each other down, its the goal, not the means, its what makes them terrifying.

for men, its being petty along the way to greatness, for women, being petty is the outright point.

I think it's because this type of character just works. People sort of love to hate them, they're awful but you sort of admire them at the same time because they're so confident and honest about their feelings. It's kind of wish fulfillment. Saying what you really think about everyone and being pretty and rich enough to get away with it is a really therapeutic idea, it sounds awesome to me.

Pic related are my favorites (couldn't pick one).

This^

Women + Authority = Shitstorm

People say men enjoy pissing contests but women do it so much more often. They wield power tyrannically because they want you to know they are better and it's almost always related to social status especially when they interact with other women. It's also a fact that women don't mind being subordinate to men but can't tolerate other women in power so it become a passive aggressive circle that leads to bullshit.

Seriously I wasn't the most popular guy in high school but the cheerleaders and popular girls at least put up a front of kindness towards me. Bitches love being subordinate to men because if they're attractive they can SEDUCE the man. That's how bitches get status and high rank, they fuck their way to the top. Ever see a woman patronize others because her husband is the boss of the company or lead singer of a musical band? Well there you go.

>>
>>77320958
Your generalisations are meaningless. You're making a sweeping statement about men and women that is at best accurate to tendencies among the sociopathic or externally-driven subsets of each population. The fact that you find women "terrifying" is utterly laughable, redpilled nonsense, particularly so considering men engage in these exact same behaviours at both the lowest and highest strata of achievement and status. Individuals can be "terrifying", not whatever greater population diverged by their sex they're an infinitesimally small component of.

>>

Abusers and the abused are typically the same group of people.
>>
>>77321463
Popular people are popular because they can command presence and tell their peers what to think an feel. Likability neither helps nor detracts.
>>
>>77321361
"Abuse and humiliation" isn't nearly as common in modern schools as it once was, but the impression it left on media and writers is still strong enough that social recluses and introverts assert negative traits onto "populars" and "normals" (when individuals from both groups are really just ambivalent or unconcerned towards the introvert) as a justification for their self-imposed isolation. Abuse and humiliation still occur, particularly among younger students that haven't yet formed an understanding of social dynamics or acquired an appropriate clique, but it's rare enough that entire classes have no reported incidences of its occurrence.
>>
>>77321236

Don't you know where you are?
>>
>>77321491
Why don't you just go ahead and try and put that theory to practice.

Popular people are popular for a combination of a conglomeration of historical minutia (you may call it timing, you may call it luck) and an aesthetic of character. And though common archetypes can be deduced, neither can be reduced to "make sure people see you and then tell them stuff."

Are you for real? I mean do you REALLY think that's how they work? I bet you also think popular people never fight with other popular people and that you have to be an asshole to everyone. Holy wow, dude, have you ever TALKED to a popular person? Cartoons hyped them up but the most popular people are usually the most down to Earth. Except "black popular" people or "ratchets". Ratchets only befriend other ratchets. They're usually "cool" with popular people but not close because even they hate ignorance in such large doses.

>>
>>77321491
There aren't "top" populars in school settings; they all form into cliques, and those cliques are the "popular" cliques, which is pretty much just a convenient term for social students that take an active part in their class, electives, and school community. Naturally, they're drawn to each other. The people in these cliques don't "command" each other, nor do they "command" the people not in them; they simply set a desirable social example that wins them many friends and acquaintances. They're affable, even to the socially maladjusted, which makes other people more liable to listen to them and enjoy their presence. That's why they're popular, not because they have some nonsense natural Caesarian presence.

These types of people do exist to an extent, for both genders. They're usually smart enough to not mess with and to also surround themselves with kids too apathetic to care about bullying (or downright enjoy it) as long as they're not the victims, hence why they're popular despite being horrible people. However, Pacifica's is in some ways the most accurate, in that she picked up such hostile behavior because she was raised by awful role models. Same thing for Bonny, but she's not as good of an example; many of the awful things she did to others are the same things her sisters did to her. She's not as good of an example because she was smart enough to know that the way she was being treated was unfair, and lost any character development she had in an episode.

Hi butch hartman
>>
The most popular girls at my high school were always super nice, very pretty and got good grades. You know, people who would obviously be popular. I never understood why it was different for other people.
>>
>>77322180
Doesn't he still visit her or some shit? And giffany did nothing wrong.
>>
>>77321646
No, clearly YOU didn't.
You can't just watch tv to get that understanding, fedora-mancer, all media has pieces of the puzzle. They're in power because they don't have to be likable, BECAUSE THEYRE ON TV YOU DIPSHIT, NOT SITTING IN THE SAME ROOM
They have to come of as being likable visably, and charismatic, but since they don't hang out with voters in the same room away from everyone else, being truly likable would be as necessary as a cashier being friendly at a Walmart.
There's no purpose to wasting energy that'll bear no fruit.
>>
>>77320423

Don't care which cartoon, I always have a thing for the hench bitches, especially the weak and insecure ones. They're fearful of losing whatever little status their Queen Bee allows them. They're in constant survival mode.
>>
>>77322308
>I never understood why it was different for other people.
Because other people are different and experience different situations than yours?
>>
>>77321990
This. Most popular guy in my high school was the nicest most sociable dude there. And we knew each other pretty well growing up, I got to hang out with him sometimes.
Man, Jeremy was so cool.
>>
>>77322308
Mine was the same way. The mean people were just popular in their own niches but not nearly as popular as these cartoons make them out to be.

3/4 of these girls were later proven to still be good people, even if they're bitches.
>>
>>77322526
I think a lot of kids who get bullied don't really know who the most popular kids in school are. Like they might get made fun of by a girl who seems popular because she has a bunch of toadie friends she hangs out with, but that girl probably isn't anything special in the social hierarchy.

That said the grade A psychopath alpha bitch who uses their power and social standing to abuse people definitely does exist, my kid sister is basically a modern day countess Bathory, she has a high-paying office job now and I feel bad for the people who have to work under her.
>>
>>77322742
>Drove their car to school and shit

Is this really an uncommon thing? At my school pretty much everyone started driving to school junior or senior year and this was in a very rural area with a lot of poor people.
>>
>>77322967
From my experience in suburbia the only kids with cars were the richer ones whose parents bought it for them. Everyone else didn't spend the money on it and just rode the school buses, even if they worked they saved the money for spending on iPods or whatever.
>>
>>77322967
It's probably more common in a rural area, I thought few people actually drove in large cities. Where I live practically everyone drove because about half the kids lived outside city limits, on ranches and other patches of land.

It's the main bitch with two people because you can have the main bitch with a person on both sides, only one friend would be identified more with "her friend" instead of "her minions", and three are superfluos and so useless to animate.

The main bitch is always not black (she could be asian or white or latina) because I really have to explain this?

So her two friends are always one black so you can have the token black person, but not both of them because it would be weird to have a white bitch with only black minions.

The main bitch is white because you don't get
>>
>>77322526
This.

If there were any bullies than they'd be the kids who were the second class of popularity.

They'd belong to their own clique and be socially developed enough to not be seen as weird but not nice enough to really be liked all round.

For the most part though, conflict tended to happen within groups not across.

but the bitches in those were their "BFF"'s

Sandy was the only bitch out of her group, and she was so to Quinn to have her "learn her place", as she could easily dethrone Sandy on the merit of her actually being likable and smart (and she knew better about fashion and shit)

Courtney was the classic example of a girl who is popular only because she's rich, and she was kind of self aware of that, as she saw a genuine friend in Ginger, and didn't really care for her "friends". Miranda on the other hand was a complete ass and, iirc, one of the movie episodes has her and the other bitch girl plotting to make Ginger stay at an art school just to get rid of her

>>77322308
This was pretty much my experience, too. Yeah, we had some girls who were the "bitchy cheerleader" types and guys that were the "meathead jock" types, but for the most part, the folks who were most well liked were really sociable and genuinely nice people. Hell, our football team even made a "thank you" video for the marching band when we came out to play despite really nasty weather conditions. Our football coach loved us.

Also, there wasn't really a single hierarchy kind of thing, as another anon said. There weren't single, queen bees or whatever. Everyone sort of fell into their own circle of friends and, for the most part, kept to themselves.

High school really wasn't all that terrible. You weren't hated for being intelligent or being involved in music or academic clubs. I was far from being "popular" in high school or even in college, but I found my niche and made really close friends.

Maybe it's "fun" to think of high school as this crazy jungle where nerds are scraping and struggling to get by - maybe a lot of us have that kind of victim complex - but if I look back on my experience, that wasn't the case at all.
>>
>>77322308
Same here. Popular people are popular for a reason. Another interesting find, in my experience, is that the uber nerds tend to be quite hostile to any outsider. The reason they're not well liked is because they're assholes to people.

fiction has highschool as a melting pot of all different kids
but in reality the poor kids go to public school and the rich kids are sequestered to whichever private school their family can afford, so you only mingle with kids that aren't too different from each other. There's no 'better suck up to Kelly because her family is loaded and she buys expensive gives for her friends' because Kelly is off in some middle-low private school where she doesn't even realize her family is well off since she literally doesn't know anyone drastically poorer.
>>
>>77321957

Mandy is spoiled rotten. My boyfriend's little sister is exactly the same way. She has to have the best of everything, is bitchy to all of her friends and is super dominate. Their parents are divorced, so when christmas came around she usually got whatever expensive item she wanted and she threw a fit if she didn't get it.

It's sickening really and kinda funny too. Because most of her "high school friends" have realized that they can make friends who don't want the biggest slice of cake everytime and isn't "My way or the highway attitude". So many have taken off, even her best friend since high school is ditching her for the friends who don't demand their attention every 10 seconds. So far, she's made "0" new friends and spends most of her time either working her part time job or doing school work. I kinda would feel bad for her, but she is selfish to the point of obsurity.

Cliques exist, but they're much less "formal", for lack of a better word. There's a lot of intermingling and I don't think the old battle lines exist anymore.
>>
>>77331587

We had a severe caste in our school, despite having about only 200 students top. The "popular" girls were the most physically attractive and the ones who played sports. With guys it was who played sports. It really varied from class to class, though. I was in the group of "friends with everyone" but no one was my best friend. Which totally sucked. Everyone like me, and liked being around me but no one wanted to hang out with me after school or do anything. Never dated anyone in high school either, not without me trying to date people but no one ever asked me out.

I found out from several of my guy friends that many people were intimidated by me. I have a cousin the same age as me, 6'4 and very big guy, we were in the same class. He threatened anyone and everyone he deemed "unfit" to be my friend or to associate with me. Which in our small town was pretty much everyone.

My cousin though I was some innocent little flower that needed defending, as I was a tiny little thing back then. One guy even said, had he not been around, he would have asked me out in a heart beat.

Kinda breaks my heart.

>Start talking to her out of necessity, sometimes go to her house to do schoowork, sometimes she goes to mine, semi-frequent texting, some phonecalls. Get to know her a lot better: Her bad relationship with her stepmom, her dreams of being a vet, lying to her friends about already losing her v, her love of shitty horror movies, et cetera.

>One random day out the blue she tells me that she likes me, that she trust me and feels safe around me, that she wants to be my girlfriend. I'm caught off guard in the good way and agree. She then lays down some ground rules as to how to proceed about it, basically a secret relationship where we pretend we're just lab-partners and meet up in secret. Most people who act like this in high school do it because they learned to shun and distrust everyone because they were heavily bullied in elementary/middle school. The Mandy type is my favorite, though I like Bonnie from Kim Possible too. A good bitch should be closest to the female beauty standard in the show. Hotter than hell figure, long, beautiful hair, elegant clothes etc. She should be rich too and have a few lackeys who follow her everywhere. Her word should be the law for most people, and of course she should pick on the other kids, especially if she feels threatened as the hot shit.

Bonnie is kinda against many of these rules. She is pretty average compared to the rest of the female cast, she dresses rather plain most of the time and it doesn't seem people follow her that much. The greatest wtf ever however: not her but the heroine is the leader of the cheering team.
>>
>>77342036
I second this as true. It describes high school me to a T.
Of course they're out to get you. They only want to be friends with you so that they can beat you up in that hidden area by the portables. People are popular because they can pay the way to be popular, with being good looking as the second reason.
