IF I recall, Pen had involvement in both the first AT game (Hey Ice King, why did you steal our Garbage?) and the third one aka this one (The Secret of the Nameless Kingdom).
It certantly shows when it coems to the style of dialogue since both Exploring the dungeon Because I don't Know and DEFINITELY Finn & Jake Investigations (No sin greater than a point and click style adventure that has no funny quips when you investigate objects!!) are hugely bland when it comes to dialogue.

Last season got really story heavy and humor definitely took a backseat. Normally I'd be fine with that, but it was incredibly unfulfilling at the same time. Things like fucking Martin episodes going nowhere, having no payoff and ultimately coming off like some kind of nihilist "nobody gets whats coming to them" moral of the story, but completely without the charm of other nihilistic shows like Rick and Morty.

A lot of the story episodes (especially backstory (especially Evergreen)) were great until the final week. The Magic Man episode was awful and stupid and took a shit on Betty's character arc, and the whole Orgalorg plot was like 90% boring exposition and setup for a final episode that didn't even make sense. I guess the idea was to have Finn come to terms with his dad being an asshole and accept that they can never be a family, but what a pointlessly convoluted and unentertaining way to do it.
At least we got PB finally taking a break and getting some more character development. She's even reconnecting with Marcy.
