Earth's doesn't have any circles or lines though, curiously enough. So we know Sucrose is a retarded weab like us. And that when you have a former villain join a small group of protagonists, each of them needs to accept the 'Zuko' in turn, preferably with an episode highlighting that person and the Zuko's relationship.
Steven had his previous interactions with Peridot as well as Catch and Release and When it Rains. Pearl had Back to the Barn. Amethyst had Too Far.
But what about Garnet? How do we reconcile her relationship with Peridot, and separate them from the rest of the Gems? Steven had the house, Pearl had the barn, and Amethyst had the kindergarten. We also need to have the two of them connect on something they share- Pearl had the tech and the class issues, Amethyst had acceptance and feeling big, and Steven had his natural charisma. We need someplace for Peridot and Garnet to be without Pearl or Amethyst (Steven can possibly come to).
Idea: soon upcoming episode is a final test/actual usage of the drill. Because of its design and intended usage, it must be manually driven- by Peridot of course. Either because they're going to the core or because they don't trust her, Garnet comes along to swim in lava/watch Peridot. Eventually something fucks up down by the Cluster and the drill is breaking. Peridot can't survive alone, so she has to fuse with Garnet to create a fusion that can swim in lava and survive the pressure. Then Peridot truly learns what fusion means to Garnet and accepts her, yadda yada.
If Steven comes along for whatever reason, have him form a bubble around himself and Garnet isn't strong enough to push both him and Peridot to the surface, so she has to fuse while Steven is busy keeping the bubble up so he doesn't get crushed.
