Keeper of the Reaper had Fred Fredburger in it, and he was the obnoxious new character that fucking ruined the show.

Fred Fredburger was tolerable in "Keeper in the Reaper". Him sticking around afterwards was what ruined the show.
But I will say that "Here Thar Be Dwarves" definitely surpasses "Keeper of the Reaper". This isn't an insult to "Keeper of the Reaper", it's just that "Here Thar Be Dwarves" is a really damned hard episode to beat.

Fred Fredburger was great in the context of Keeper of the Reaper, because the plot needed a stupid, frustratingly annoying jury member to work. He had no reason to ever appear again after that, though.

7 seasons was a really good run, the creator was just ready to move on.
Underfist was a pilot for a spinoff, but the creator just wanted it to be a special and decided not to pursue it as a full series.
