Toonhole's pretty hit or miss, but I like the art most of the time.

"What is my favorite webcomic of the moment."
I come across a webcomic and make a decision "do these couple posts look good? should I bother?"
If it seems even vaguely worthwhile I go and read the whole thing, obsessively read all that is there, then usually never go back again later for newer posts.
I've read some truly terrible stuff.

No, she is a social justice warrior. She wrote a giant saga about how radical feminists aren't real and are made up by crazy people to discredit feminism. She's not a normal reasonable person, she is a radfem piece of shit.

Her comic was too big to post but picture this comic except way longer and even more condescending and retarded.

Why is a woman gas welding?
>>
>>64604368
I hate this comic since the word "radical" can mean extreme, which is exactly how the guy is using it. Yes, there is a subset of feminism called radical feminism that focuses on male supremacy and female oppression. There's also a thing called adjectives being attached to nouns.

Read the first ten comics. If you're interested, you'll know why. Schlock Mercenary is on my webcomic blacklist.

>Okay, so back in the bad old days, there was Keenspot. They ran a free comic service called Keenspace. Anyone could have a webcomic on Keenspace, but it was just free space. You didn't get any money from it and had no store. Keenspot gave you a cut of the revenue and set you up with a store and other benefits. It was where you aspired to be on that network.

>So Clay from Sexy Losers got a decent readership at that time and decided to apply for Spot. It wouldn't be unprecedented, there were a few other adult comics on it, so he figured why not?

>The thing is, for some reason the application process needed the comic to get vetted by other spot people. There wasn't just a single overlord who decided.

>Anyway, it went to this committee, which included Willis and Schlock Mercenary guy, and the answer came back as kind of a "well, maybe now's not the best time."

>However, an enterprising fellow by the name of Ghastly had somehow gotten access to the chat where the application was going to be discussed and, in a moment of early internet great trolling, took the chatlog from it and posted it on the Keenspace forums. As it turns out, there was really no chance of it being approved. Schlock Mercenary guy said if SL got in, he was going to leave and he had a big readership, so he was probably what killed it. BUT! The best line from it all was Willis saying "I wish he [Clay] could see this so he'd know how much we hate him."

1/2
>>
>>64611515

2/2

>Naturally, this caused an enormous shitstorm since it painted Keenspot people in a pretty terrible light to have such a bunch of petty assholes running it. The guy from RPG World was pretty much the only nice guy among them. So a bunch of yelling went on and Clay withdrew his request and then left Keenspace (why stay when it was clear the ruling body of the place didn't want you around?).

>A particularly annoying thing happened when Schlock Mercenary left the site 5 months later, anyway.

>But then a particularly funny thing happened a year or two later. Space Coyote's comic was nominated for Spotting. Like, she didn't apply, they asked her in. And her response was that they shat on someone who was her friend and offered no apology for it, so why would she want to belong to their little club? Mic dropped and she left the Keen network also.

>That's just a fun little post script (plus the fact that Keenspace/Spot are mostly dead now). The point is, that's why I will always dislike Willis.

The non-radical people you're talking about here are presumably just people who don't like sexism or gender-bias. If they were, they wouldn't identify themselves with a gender-biased term. A movement is nothing but the people who identify with it, by giving it a gender-biased term you attract gender-biased people and dissuade people who dislike gender-bias. If you give a shit about ending sexism and/or gender-bias you won't identify yourself as feminist. To do so is either dishonest or just plain stupid and self defeating.

A comic is not a novel, a comic is not purely written form it is in fact mostly visual form. All actions and environments and a considerable amount of communication is in the visual form and a good comic writer would attempt to put concepts across in the visual form too, rather than shit a novel page into the middle and use the visual as a colorful margin.

Feminism is a mostly meaningless term, because it can mean hundreds of things.

Does it mean equality for the sexes? In that case, why the name? Is it because women are the only ones suffering from sexism? What about the trivilization of violence against men? Or the favorization of mothers over fathers in custody battles? Women may have it harder but it does not justify the name targeting them solely.

Does it mean celebrating femininity? What is femininity? Is it the classical idea or are those constructed to keep women down? Is it the rebellion against classical femininity? What are women then supposed to hold as their own?

Does it mean female supremacy?

Is sexualisation of women a positive or a negative?

You could tell two random feminists theorists to sit down and debate feminism, then put a selection of weapons next to them and start making popcorn, they'd fucking murder each other within five minutes.

>imo I think feminist is a label for women who wanna be equal to guys but at the same time also tell guys it's okay to be feminine

Yeah... unfortunately words have meanings determined by society. You don't get to choose your own definition of words.

Feminism is someone who believes in two specific things. That women should have equal or superior rights compared to men. That society is a patriarchy which is ruled by men and in which women are 2nd class citizens.

Believing in equal rights is cool, I'm an egalitarian so I want equal rights for both genders as well.

The problematic issues come from 'Patriarchy'. This is an un-falsifiable conspiracy theory on par with stormfags who believe that 'da joo's' rule the world.

The dogmatic belief that women are always 2nd class citizens is also the reason why feminazi's are so sexist to men. According to feminist dogma if men earn more money than women from work then this is due to sexism against women BUT feminists also claim that if more men than women are homeless then this is ALSO due to sexism against women.

Every single feminist is a bigot and a member of a sexist hategroup. You wanting to be 'nice' makes you the equivalent of the nice 'KKK' member.

Then don't label yourself.
This is what /pol/ and SJWs fail to grasp.
>You can't say, because I'm a gender fluid, binary, neutron deviant!
>Oh yeah well you'd just say that because you're a politically correct lesbian liberal!
Both sides label the other one in order to invalidate their opinions. At the same time when you associate yourself with a label, you're saying that you also believe, or at least accept, in the same things that everyone else under that label does. This is a problem because even three people aren't going to have the same opinions, much less hundreds of thousands.

So avoid calling yourself a SWJ, that way your opinion isn't invalidated, and you don't have to defend the opinion of other people. Don't shift over to another label, because that will just have the same problems, even if it's a different view point.

Instead voice your opinions, and don't let anyone label you just to discard that.
>>
>>64608730
I mentioned it in the cowboy girl thread, but I let this comic go when it was still only a dozen pages long years ago. Glad I caught up with it now, and it seems the PATREON GIBE MONEY PLS might make it go a bit quicker.
>>
>>64618349
>From what I understand, the Patriarchy is not a conspiracy theory in the lines of "muh jews", but rather a societal mentality.

Patriarchy theory blames all social ill's on an undefinable shadowy enemy that is simultaneously all powerful yet weak enough that it has to hide it's existence. It's very similar to the way that the Nazi's used the 'international Jewish conspiracy' to justify their actions.

It's also un-falsifiable, when men have privilege it's because of sexism and the Patriarchy, when women have privilege it's because of 'benevolent sexism' and the Patriarchy. The solution in both cases is more rights for women and more feminism.

>>64618403
>I'm for the equality side of feminism, don't compare feminism to the KKK

If you supported equality you would consider yourself an egalitarian, instead you chose to identify with a sexist hate group because they support your ideology, that makes you a bigot.

/pol/ here.

Human thought depends on labels. While it's a nice idea that everyone should be treated as an individual and all stereotypes should be abandoned the human brain literally does not work that way.

Humans are tribal creatures and we share ideologies as tribes. This is why many ideals can be considered 'liberal' or 'conservative' despite having nothing to do with either ideology. People adopt the beliefs of their tribe and attack the beliefs of their tribes enemies.

Ironically the only political system which tries to be above the tribal left right divide is fascism, which considers itself a 'third way'.

>>
>>64618816
Well of course people are going to label you no matter what. Down to your race, hair color, gender, it's all labels.
But what I don't want that poster to do is
>Hello, I'm a SJW Feminist!
Your life shouldn't revolve around your label.
It's like people who jack off to picture of animals then try to pass it off as a "culture". These people are defining their whole lives around their label, and ultimately that's not a very healthy way to live.
>>
>>64618816
You are correct but you are wrong to say this. It's like if someone said "you should stop eating so much fast food, no wonder you're so fat." and you said "IIt's calorie count that really matters when it comes to weight." Well yes, that is true, but it's still common to do it in excess and it is obviously the person who jsut ate two mcribs in one meal who needs to stop eating fast food.

The other anon was trying to explain that it is unhealthy to use labels to their extreme, as the thing by which you define yourself, pushing back reason or sense of any kind when it comes to, as you said, "defending your tribe". Yes this is what humans do. That doesn't mean it's not much more sensible to take that awareness of this human trait and not let it consume you and make an idiot of you.

Did that metaphor work or was it too distracting?
>>
>>64618928
I don't have my life revolve around those labels, it's just when discussions like these pop up I give in my views, that's when my labels come in

But you don't have to have labels when it comes to your views, because that's just your opinion.
In this thread I don't know if you're a boy, girl, old, or young.
What I do know, is that you're a self proclaimed former SJW, and current Feminist. And that itself changes my view point of you.
But you can still voice your opinions without associating yourself with a larger group. There are labels that you'll never be able to change like >>64618816 says. But when it comes to something like feminism, you don't need to call yourself a feminist to express your views.
>>
>>64619305
I'm for a lot of viewpoints that feminism agrees with, I guess that's why I labeled myself. But why not label myself if I can't escape it anyways
also while people can have opinions, that doesn't mean some hurtful viewpoints should be just dismissed or excused as opinions (ie. a racist "opinion" being defended or excused because "it's just their opinion")
I just wanted to talk about fucking webcomics. why do we have to get politics involved?
>>
>>64618558
>Don't label yourself!

But that's dumb, in our society the individual doesn't have the power to influence things only by banding together can people get enough power to enact even the tiniest of social sanctions.
>>
>>64618620
Patriarchy is trait of a social system. 'The patriarchy' is just a personification of this trait. Our social system sees men as more capable than women, and thus affords their opinions more value in most cases. This makes it a patriarchy. The vast majority of the sexism against men (I.E., the parental laws being fcked and so many homeless people, and the trivialization of violence on men) is /also/ a result of patriarchy, since men are seen as strong enough that society doesn't need to defend or even look out for them.

The term 'feminism' merely comes from the movement's roots in championing women's rights, feminist theory has been concerned about the discrimination men face when they try to move outside of the gender role of masculinity for a long time.

Mind, mainstream feminism has some really big problems, most of them due to it being almost entirely coopted by middle class white women. Womanism is a superior movement.

I don't consider myself part of either movement, since I am a cis-het white dude, and adding my voice to either movement would cause more oppressed voices in said movements to have less weight. I do try to act as an 'ally' of womanism and feminism though.
>>
>>64619877

What he desperately needs is an emergency infusion of some testosterone, and for someone to surgically lower his balls, and I can think of no better prescription than the all new McLaren P1 hypercar. The P1 features a 3.8-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol engine that is only similar to the MP4-12C motor in its displacement. The twin turbos boost the petrol motor at 2.4 bar to deliver 727 bhp (542 kW) and 719 Nm (531 lb ft) at 7500 rpm, combined with an in-house developed electric motor producing 176 bhp (131 kW) and 260 Nm (192 lb ft). With both motors, the P1 will have a total power and torque output of 903 bhp (916 PS) and 978 Nm (722 lb ft) respectively. The electric motor can be deployed manually by the driver or left in automatic mode, whereby the car's ECUs 'torque fill' the gaps in the petrol motor's output, which is considered turbo lag. This gives the powertrain an effective powerband of almost 7000rpm.The car is rear-wheel drive with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
