Do you think the Court of Owls is overrated?
I thought the first half was almost as good as Snyder's Black Mirror, but City of Owls had a lot of little things that made it less enjoyable to read as a whole.
>>78368202
Not overrated, it's a cool concept, it just set itself up for failure.
Their only plan (as we saw it) was "do this thing and kill batman" in the first story arc of Batman comics. No way that was going to work. And the only result was them running and hiding while a spinoff title had their own Talons killing them.
A good writer could take them and flesh them out and make them work better, but so far they're more nonentity than overrated.
>>78368417
And as a story arc it did a really fantastic job showing up the dark mystery behind the scenes of Gotham as well as the madness that threatens everyone in it.
Much better than rehashing the old "organized crime vs freaks" origins.
>>78368202
I didn't like the way Batman was written in it. He was simply too infallible. He's wounded and Alfred gives him enough sedative to kill a rhino but five minutes later he's up because he's JUST SO DRIVEN. All Robins appear in the first issue and then disappear - because this was the Batman solo title and there were Batman & Robin, Nightwing, etc comics and I guess they cannot appear un more than one story.
Dick did show up for a bit, but only to be Batman's foil and set up a ridiculous...

Who's your favorite stylish rogue?
I swear I'll kill the first person who posts Joker.
Come on, do you have to ask?

I personally prefer when it's a lovely lady in those dapper duds.
How is it Slappy aged but the Warners didn't?
Who?
Because the Warners were in... suspended animation.
They are immortal demons of the lower realm.
That's canon.
If Star Wars is part of the Marvel universe now will we be able to see Jedi and Marvel heroes fighting?
>>78367973
>If Star Wars is part of the Marvel universe now
It's not. Star Wars belongs to Disney, not Marvel.
>>78367988
everything is owned by Disney now.
Everything.
God granted the Devil dominion over the earth.
god i dont know what it is about jedi with trooper armor and a robe that looks so sexy
get ready

As long as the story is good I don't mind the character being fat
>it's a "Lisa Simpson gets a new friend" episode
>it's a "Bart screws up really badly" episode
>It's an episode centered around a new character with a distinct realistic hairstyle voiced by a celebrity

Fry, stop complaining about centuries old animated shows.
Hey /co/ what did you think of The Maxx tv show?
When it came out I thought it was the greatest thing ever. It was the most different animation I'd bring exposed to, although Aeon Flux and The Head were around the same time and they were all on par. Recently watched it with a friend a few months back. Not being an American, a freelance social worker sounds really abstract. It was requires suspension of belief in so many aspects. But overall it's still a great concept and story.
It's really different and good in a way few other series are. It deserves to be on all the infographics and recommendation lists, and because it came out in the nineties, it is!
A mixed bag.
On the plus side, they followed the comic to a T, and used many panels of the comic in pan shots and the like. If you are a fan of Sam Kieth like I am, this makes for a pretty show. With the possible exception of Sarah, I thought the VA's were well cast, with everyone fitting the role perfectly.
On the downside, they only covered the first half of the plotline, and shoehorned in an ending to wrap things up even though nothing gets wrapped up or explained by it. There are a few minor hints thrown in, but unless you read the comics you really wouldn't...

>It's a Hannuka episode
>95% of the characters are christians
Hannakuh is a Christian holiday. Prove me wrong, goys.
>>78366802
>being such an insecure faggot that you can't celebrate your friends religious holidays with them
>>78366802
>it's an onsen episode
>Bart Episode
He has to deal with his own flaws and try to learn from his mistakes.
>Lisa Episode
She has to deal with other people not being able to see how great she is.
>>78364817
The funny thing is that in the episode you posted they explicitly say that Lisa is a big fish in a small pond.
>>78364817
I've always loathed Lisa.
The Status Quo? Ay Caramba!
>"adult" cartoon
>it's just edgy nonsense or an animated sitcom gimmick with bad art catered to twelve year olds
Why would you do this?
>>78364492
So, I guess Fantasia is what you want? Or does it have to be "accidentally" adult since making it "intentionally" not for kids is considered edgy? I'm starting to empathize will all the "REY IS NOT A MARY SUE" hysterics because I feel the same way about, "He said fuck. Oh wow, 3edgy7me, totally for 13 year olds right?"
>>78364830
>since making it "intentionally" not for kids is considered edgy?
bingo
>>78364492
>catered to twelve year olds
most adults have the humor of a 12 year old tho.
Just a reminder that Legend of Korra is the Avatar equivalent of the Star Wars prequels.
Think about that the next time you claim it isn't irredeemable shit.
>>78364380
>we'll never have a brown muscle girl protag in an action cartoon again
>>78364380
>believing everyone on /co/ is part of same hive mind and unable to have their own opinion
>>78364380
So you are saying that Korra is bad and Avatar is overrated?
God she's hot

I want the pedos to leave.
>>78363606
Biskits are better.
>>78363649
Just accept it. 4chan was created by a pedo, ran by pedos, and recently taken over by a pedo.
Jesus, I'm starting to reassess watching this movie.

You weren't expecting them not to reference chimichangas at least once, were you? At least it served a point.
Haven't we known it was going to be Waypool from the start?
So is it shit?
>>78360044
Its not bad in a storytime of pain way, its just really really unremarkable and uninspired.
>>78360044
actually I've been enjoying it
Not really the best Clark Kent story ever but there is a decent amount of character depth and it is an interesting take on Clark's life before Superman
I liked the first issue, it was well-told and a cute story. Haven't read the second yet.
I'm watching Season 1 of Gotham right now and please, please tell me Barbara fucks off at some point?
She is the worst written character but the rest of the show is worth sticking around for. And her dialogue gets less retarded in time.
>>78358392
Yes. Shebecomes a drunken lesbian pedophilebefore gettingkidnapped by a serial killer, killing her parents, andgoing full supervillain with a psychotic obsession for Jim.And then she just gets better in season two, working asThe Joker to Jim's Batmanbefore shegets thrown off a building.
>>78358392
She does for a tiny bit in season 2 but then >>78358479>tfw he'll end up with her regardless in some outstandingly horrid asspull with her redemption, even though Lee's pregnant AND he asked her to marry him.
