Watching Digimon Adventure tri. got me nostalgic for Geocities era shrines on ye ole interwebs. Let's dump some Digimon Adventure, particularly Taito/Yamachi.

I'm down with Taishirou. I always got the impression (from trolling fanart sites) that Taito was the main pairing w/ Western fans & Taishirou was 'big in Japan.' Always saw a lot of Jyou/Yamato on Japanese sites too, which I thought was a bizarre pairing.
Tri really pandered the fuck out of them, let's hope there will be more to come in the future movies.

I literally gasped when they showed the flashback of them holding hands during Adventure. It's really frustrating b/c I feel like they're hyping up to create some canon het couples (not that the 02 ending didn't do this already) while simultaneously doing sooo much Taitobaiting.

Have to say though, still wish they went for a different style with the new Digimon.

really? i used to troll japanese digimon fanart sites during the show's original run and while taito was popular, i saw an awful lot of tai/kou + yama/takeru as well... two pairings that were def. less popular in the west. can't really say much about het though, avoided all those pairings like the plague...

I had a freudian slip back in highschool and refered to the digimon characters "taichi and yamato as "taito and yamachi." He just stared at me and i quickly corrected myself, although he then said "those are yaoi pairings" (out of the blue, I might add). I was totally blown away and I still think he is deep in a closet.
