When I was a kid, I always referred to pic related as a "chip burger" and indeed, googling that term brings them up. However, I can't seem to find any company that actually refers to them as such.

Where did that term come from?

Had it once, the m&m kind, when I was about 12. But even by 14 I couldn't take the sweetness of it. Cookies is just overkill.
