One of life's simple pleasures.

How do you make yours?
>>
Two flavor packets, let it sit for a while, and then drain the broth.
>>
cook noodles, drain, add flavor sachet, squeeze of kecap manis, squirt of sriracha, teaspoon of chicken fat mix top with green onion and a fried egg
>>
>>7830591

A little unusual lol but I don't like instructions xD

Boil teapot of water, dump the water into a bowel which I had my ramen and packaged flavoring in. Add some pre-cut vegetables like green onions. Maybe add in some rice and soy sauce, or just leave it off to the side.
>>

Sorry but this is how broth is made?
>>
I hate all those "life hacks" about adding eggs and fucking beef to shitty Ramen.
Just make some decent noodles with a good broth instead, instaramen is fucking garbage.
>>
>>7830631
Yeah, and don't you want the starch from the noodles in the broth?

If you made it from brand new water it would lose that.

Just had some today, it was p. bomb.

overcooked the noodles but I think that added to the appeal. After cooking, added: half the packet of flavoring (chicken), a teaspoon of oyster sauce, and a tablespoon of peanut butter.

It's just what I had on hand, but the result was delicious.

Are you mad about the easiest, most shelf-stable way to add protein to ramen, literally the only thing it needs to be an excellent meal?
>>

Not everyone cares able "shelf-stable" and have a fridge and freezer to store actual meat.

Hell, even frozen meat is better than peanut butter.

If you cared so much about protein how about a protein shake instead? 30 seconds.

Jaysus fuck what the fuck man
>>

Because you might be so lazy that you don't want to leave the house. That's common on this board.

It also might be an issue of price. This stuff is even cheaper than "a buck or two".
>>
2 packages
drain all the water
stir in mayo
add 1 can tuna
add small can of peas
use about 1 1/2 of flavor packet
crush up some ritz crackers in it
>>
>>7830591
Cook only half the block of noodles at a time with half the flavor packet. There's two servings per package, so a whole flavor packet is 66% of your daily allotment of salt.

Boil noodles in water with fresh shredded cabbage, peeled carrot, and sometimes diced onion. Add flavoring, or sometimes eschew it entirely in favor of a couple teaspoons soy sauce, garlic powder, and ginger powder. Eat.
>>
>>7830591
I make my own broth: chic/beef/veg bullion, soy sauce, rice wine vinegar, sesame oil (for jap style). Add to that Sriracha and or crushed red pepper, fish sauce, ginger, basil & brown sugar (coconut milk if you wish), for more of a Thai style. Then veg, shredded broccoli/carrot/cabbage mix, shrooms, spinach (all of which I keep on hand frozen in the freezer), if going the this route, some tomatoes. Then frozen shrimp, or thinly sliced beef or chicken. Crack an egg to poach in the broth, or for more jap style poach an egg and reserve in a separate dish, add soy sauce and rice wine vinegar and let sit for a bit, add the lot when ready to serve. Take the packet of ramen and throw in the trash and boil up wheat spaghetti noodles (jap) or linguini in the broth.
>>
>>7830795
I just add dried meat or fish to mine, because I like having the little pieces :) but maybe whole peanuts
>>
What's the best seasoning that isn't super high in sodium?

Or sauces besides sriracha?
>>
>>7830591
With bok choi and imitation crab.
>>
Hot sauce or pepper, garlic, and onions.

I tried the mixing in cheese and it was like eating vomit.

Mixing meat in defeats the purpose of poverty noodles
>>
>dump in whole sodium flavor packet
>Erica's hot sauce
>Sichuan peppers
>fish sauce
>tambrin sauce
>rice wine vinegar

a little of everything.

Gives it a nice hot and sour blended

I add cheese and cut up fried hotdog at the end if I am not too lazy.
>>
>boil two packs of noodles with two eggs
>drain
>add some soy sauce and hot sauce with a bit less than one pack of seasoning
>maybe some vegetables or scallions
>>
Chili or Picante Beef ramen, chopped garlic, homegrown thai chilis, bean sprouts, pepper, and a poached egg on top..
>>
>>7831655
Fry your eggs dippy on the side so you don't have to fuck with getting the noodles and egg done at the same time.
They just overcook if you throw them in.
Chicken ramen (drained, use less seasoning) + peppers + onions + dippy eggs stirred in reminds me of roast chicken flavor and how overtly rich it was.

I will always be happier with celery, carrots and parsley in undrained ramen though.

Instant rice is dry grains. Ramen noodles need water to hydrate them and make them soft. How are you going to make the noodles soft if you add dry rice to them? Do you think that a liquid (water) and a solid (instant rice) have similar properties?
>>
>>7830591
Make the noodles according to the package then put them in a fry pan on medium heat. Pour a couple scrambled eggs over the noodles and stir until the eggs is cooked and the noodles are becoming slightly crunchy. Really cuts back on the saltiness of the seasoning

I have two ways.
Spicy Shrimp noodle-
Two cups water, one package of noodles and bullion, chopped carrot, green onion, and bell pepper, Saracha to taste, 8-10 good sized prawns.

Boil like normal. Serves two

Mongolian beef noodle-
Boil water while pan frying some beef with oyster sauce, soy sauce, black or white pepper, splash of rice wine, little sesame oil, dash of sugar, and a medium sized yellow onion.

When your meat is almost done, submerge noodles for 1 min to soften. Then transfer them to frying pan.

Finish cooking meat and mixing together.

Serves two.

For eggs, potatoes, and meat you certainly want a hot pan. If the oil isn't lightly smoking, then you risk eggs and potatoes sticking, and meats not being properly seared on each side which results in dry meat. Also they could've done more than that one egg and the oil was just a little dirty. Then again I don't use non stick pans, so I have to follow this rule.

But the eggs in question were not burnt at all. And yes that's obviously pepper. And if you knew about cooking, you'd know that that is not a truly fried egg. They used water which is how it got that brownish coloration. Fried eggs don't use water to steam the top, instead they're fried on both sides in oil. It's probably the quickest way to cook an egg too.

So stop being a pussy fried cunt, you don't know dick from hamburger.

No of course it's not burnt but that doesn't mean it isn't over cooked, the brown ring and plastic gloss texture is evident that your heat was too high and fast and the whites turned out rubbery. If you cook low and slow you will know the difference we speak of. However some people prefer the rubbery eggs.

A lot of discussion about getting a proper runny egg in your ramen. Simply drop the egg when the ramen has finished cooking right in the middle and drape noodles over until submerged.

I leave the pan on the turned off burner for about 30 seconds, the whites get cooked and the yolk perfectly runny. No mess no fuss.

The nutrition is what you get in when you eat the finished product. Yes that includes the broth you retard. If you drain the broth you consume less of the flavor packet, which is almost all sodium. With the exception of sodium you are dumping out more minerals from the water that came out of your tap than you are nutrients that were in the flavor pack.No the package doesnt know the mineral content of the water you use so it assumes it is zero.

Ingredients:

2 packs ramen
1 Tbsp. cold butter
1 1/2 Tbsp. soy sauce
2 Tsp. brown sugar
Optional: Sauteed garlic

This works with the following flavors: beef, oriental, shrimp and in a pinch, pork; although you may find that you need no seasoning at all. Boil your ramens until al dente, drain. Keep the pot, and return to heat. Add soy sauce, brown sugar, the packet, and a touch of water. This small amount will quickly begin to simmer. Remove from heat, swirl in cold butter. You will have a velvetty emulsion sauce if done right. The al dente noodles will still be hot in the colander/strainer. Add them back to the pot and toss. This is delicious. If you’ve more on hand, sauteed garlic works well (just before adding soy sauce), or slightly browned onions or shallots. If you prefer your ramen soupy, prepare sauce in different pan and add to finished soup. I’ve cooked this for many friends, and all love it.

Throw the packet away.
This is for ramen with mushrooms of choice garnished with soft boiled egg
Makes 4ish cups broth so get a pot of appropriate size
Heat: sesame oil in pot
Cook: 3 tbs minced garlic 2 tbs fresh ginger
Add:3 tbs soy sauce
2 tbs mirin
Cook for 1 or 2 min, stir mildly
Add: 4 cups of stock, not broth because the soy sauce will have enough salt in it, choose stock appropriate for the meat you want, I just made this with sausage so I used pork stock

Bring to boil then simmer
Once simmering Add: 1/2 cup of sliced mushrooms of choice, shiitake if you can get them.

Simmer for about 10 minutes then keep on low to keep ramen broth warm.

While you're waiting for things to boil etc start cooking your meat of choice however you want. If there is any stuff stuck to the pan deglaze and add it to the broth.

Boil water, add egg for 7 minutes then remove to an ice bath to cool.

Make noodles from the packet.

Combine noodles, broth, and meat in bowl.

Peel and slice egg in half, put in bowl.

Garnish with thinly chopped scallions and jalapeno slices.

Easy enough and tasty.

I used to have a saucepan that would perfectly fit a ramen block. I would add then to a pan with enough water to barely cover the block, bring to the boil and add diced chilli, grated ginger and tiny shredded bits of kale or cabbage. Sesame or Kobe beef were my favourite flavours. Simmer for a few minutes.

I just tried this last night and it was so good:
I had a bowl of :
"Udon flavor" (whatever the fuck that means) ramen. So I put in about 1/4 to half of the seasoning in the bowl and let it cook with the hot water as usual. Didn't fill it all the way to the water line, just a tiny bit less.
When it's done, I drained most of the water out with a strainer then I put the cooked ramen into a frying pan, using coconut oil as my frier (just a spoon full). I added the rest of the seasoning from the packet+some of my own paprika. When I fried it to my liking, I put it back in its original bowl. I bet it would have tasted hella good with some chopped up peanuts or soy sauce if I had some.

an anon here posted instructions on making a poor man's carbonara using instant ramen (fried type) years ago, but unlike the video above, I think he/she recommended putting in the flavor packets as well. haven't made these in ages, so i can't recall the instructions correctly.

Noooo I meant you boil the noodles in water like you normally would. You cook the rice in a separate pan. Then you drain the water from the noodles and mix the up with the rice.

Maybe in beef. Add before you start boiling the water. Or sautée, but don't forget green peppers.
These do not go extremely well with chicken, but are acceptable.
Use sweet onions and season them separately with salt/pepper.

What I add is always different, but one thing that never changes is I have to let the noodles sit and soak for a long time until they are super soggy. I could never just cook them and eat them.
