Parasites aren't the issue with modern meat. The issue is bacteria.
With store bought ground-beef, that is too rare. They grind the beef before any real wash/rinse.
If you bother to grind it up yourself, you can wash it before the grind and cook it like a steak. If you did that, that level of rareness is perfectly reasonable.

Wow. I knew a kid like that. Ripped his burger and dragged it through a puddle of catsup to make sure it was totally coated. Then he graduated to two burgers and a bowl of it. He swabbed every last bit. Strange to me.
