There is no reason for a pint of Ben and Jerry's to cost $5.

$2.50-$3 here in vermont.
>>
they have to recoup the money they wasted supporting that kike socialist, so expect prices to climb
>>
>>7817231
True. I have their book. Their ice cream recipes are ridiculously simple and can easily be replicated (or even improved upon) at home.
>>
>>7817513
tills has shit ingredients tho
>>
>>7817233

Maybe on sale it'll be $3. $4 is more common. $2.50 for a pint, where are you stealing it from, jerk?
>>
>>7817566
buying it at hannaford or price chopper.
>>
For $1.89 I've been getting Private Selection pints at Fred Meyer stores.just as many wild flavors. Just as good.
>>
There's even less reason for it to cost £5
>>
>>7817231
I pay 5$ for 14oz pint of haagen-dazs.
Its and Ben and Jerrys are some of the few brands that are actually just plain old ice cream.

They have cheaped out on so many other brands.
>>
>>7817231
>5$
A pint of B&J costs 10 dollars where I live.

I buy this delicious shit for 5.99 instead
>>
>>7817589
B&J has water added, plus liquid sugar with more water and thickeners to make up for it. stick with haagen-dazs.
>>
>>7817231
there's a perfectly valid reason for it to cost that much anon. lots of people are willing to pay it
>>
they need it to spread peace and love to their bank accounts
>>
>>7817547
>tills has shit ingredients tho
like what?
>>
>>7817231
In Australia we pay $12
>>
>>7817858
wow in huehuehueland we pay $9

but there is only a few flavors
>>
>>7817879
We only have around 5 flavors
>>
>>7817845
Not that anon but maybe he's referring to the gums. Either way tillamook is softer, and creamier, and in my opinion, better. The price is certainly fairer

Sometimes that $5 is worth it.
>>
To pay for Bernie Sanders health care policy goyim :^)
>>
>>7817255

They don't even have any stake in the company anymore. It'll climb because all the sad, white girls are eating away the pain of the BernieBros rejecting them.
>>
A tiny half-cup tub of B&J cost me AUD$6.50 when I got one at a cinema a while back.
>>
>>7817231
People pay it. There's your reason.
>>
>>7818121
that's my african-american
>>
There is, but only because you cannot get Blue Bell where you live. Even here in Central Texas we don't pay $5 for a pint of God's best ice cream.
>>
ethically I don't like supporting the company, but chocolate fudge brownie always calls me back
>>
>>7818252
What has Ben and Jerrys done politically that you dont like?
>>
>>7818245
I'm 2spooked after the recalls. I'm fine with Kroger brand desu, if I just want cheap fix I mean.
>>
>>7818278
I haven't liked them ever since they were funding occupy wallstreet, especially since they are hypocritical and just as greedy as anybody.

There original mission statement said no employee of the company would ever have a salary exceeding 7x any other employee.
That was of course until their little icecream business started making some serious cash, so they removed that part of it and started pocketing the millions that should have been used to raise the wages of their employees.
>>
People are willing to pay $5 for it.

Welcome to capitalism kiddo!
>>
>>7818303
Interesting, I had never heard that before.
>>
>>7817231
Gonna agree with this, tried this for the first time and the ice cream itself was mediocre but the mixins were tasty. I'd rather buy some blue bell and make some of my own mixins.
>>
Reminder that Birthday Cake remix at coldstone is the greatest icecream combo on earth
>>
>>7818284

I didn't even die before the recall. You know that the Blue Bell thing was New York liberal Jews trying to screw a Texas company over like they were some kind of evil fundamentalist cult trying to make money off of the masses.

Here, read this article from Alison GRISWOLD

http://www.slate.com/blogs/moneybox/2015/08/13/listeria_tainted_blue_bell_brand_could_resume_selling_ice_cream_in_september.html

Yeah the big bad evil Texas people are out to fuck you. Truth is, they have complied more than the law required, but this Jew lady wants you to believe that the evil Texas company is shamefully trying to get shekels out of you while peddling known defective products.

The truth is obviously false. There was a freak accident that occurred and they have corrected it. This Jewess is trying to make it into another Holocaust.
>>
>>7817858
you have ben and jerrys in australia? and people actually buy it?

damn dude, we really do run the show here on planet earth. to think the second least populated state in the country has the level of influence it has is also astonishing (vermonter here).
>>
>>7818309
Why don't they just charge equal to how much it cost to produce it?
>>
>>7818371
because then they wouldn't make a profit.
>>
>>7818121
agreed
>>
>>7818303
>>7818318
they had to remove that rule because they had to hire a legitimate ceo that wasnt a stoned hippie that only knew how to make good ice cream. they couldn't afford to pay everyone else at the company 1/7 what a legitimate ceo is paid, obviously.
>>
>>7818361
Thanks. Good read
>>
>take dad out to dinner for Father's Day
>he gets a Bud Light

That's fucking robbery.

>>7818318
>>7818383
dammit. meant to reply to >>7818317

sorry blue bell guy that doesn't appreciate ben and jerrys.

blue bell tastes to much like milk to me, but I only go to texas two or three times a year to visit my parents.
>>
>>7818388
theyre both shit beers and have no relation to ben and jerrys ice cream, other than I drank a lot of yingling and ate a lot of ben and jerrys in high school. I guess that's how it goes in new york.
>>
>>7817231
>Not stocking up on $2.88 sales at your local price chopper
>>

It was actually a bad read but I will presume you meant that.

$11.95 for a tub in Australia.
$13.95 for the Core tubs.
$3.95 for the two bite tubs.
>>
>>7817687
>>
Like $7 in the UK
Have never bought a full price tip, always wait for them to do the consistent $3 sale
>>
>>7818366
American food products, American media, American everything is absolutely everywhere. Kinda cute you're so shocked over B&J ice cream being available to buy in a first-world western country.
>>
>>7819243
We only get like 4 different flavours here though, shit sucks
>>
>>7817231
>Lowest price you can get this shit is 5€
It hurts man.
>>
Did you guys know icecreamelliers can't discern B&J from Aldi in a blind test? It's really just something stupid white people buy.
>>
I only buy it when it's on sale, $2

Go to your local grocery and tell me there aren't european products there.
>>
>>7819293
I didn't realize they were so widely distributed. I thought they were smaller than they apparently are.
>>
>>7819869
there aren't as many as you'd hope
I can find european products at specialty international stores if need be, but if it isn't wine, cheese, caviar, or chocolate, it's probably not from europe
>>
>>7819869
the only european thing we have is kerrygold butter in the specialty dairy cart thing. probably also some european cheese if I dig around in the cheese display.

I don't buy that shit.
>>
>>7817231
>>7817231
I know. They are communists so shouldn't it be free?
>>
>>7819886
>>7819869
I don't wanna burst your bubble but B&J is hardly the dominant icecream here either.
So you never have Dr. Oetker? Carlsberg? Heineken?
Not to mention, B&J is owned by an anglo-dutch conglomerate.
>>
>>7817231
It's the ice cream version of iphones.
>>
>>7819916
no, I don't have any of that. I don't know what that shit even is.
>>
>>7819916
they may be owned by a european conglomerate, but the ben and jerrys headquarters is down the road from me along the road that runs from south burlington to williston vermont.

Fresno or Visalia?

>you cannot deny we have the dankest farmers markets

I recently went cherry picking at a family friends farm... Farmers make bank. This dude lived on a ranch and made millions as a fucking farmer. It's insane, central is based. Best part, he looked at the migrant workers with contempt since they trash his farm leaving trash and breaking branches on his trees. It's made him pretty jaded towards Mexicans.
>>
>>7817231

8 bucks where I live.

Jesus Christ
>>
>>7820102
almost 7 € in france

like $10
>>
>>7819970
>almost all red blooded Americans

Except for the part where you're literally being invaded by Mexico.
>>
>>7817231
Except that you'll pay it, ofc. Ever heard of profit margins?
>>
>>7818245
>gums, fillers and high fructose corn syrup

Get the hell out of this thread.
>>
>>7817231
Three bucks where I live at the cheapest grocery store.

But honestly the taste of the expensive ice cream brands is better by a ton. If none of them are on sale I just don't eat ice cream.

So I guess I agree they're rarely worth it on my budget at 5 bucks. I just don't think inferior ice cream is worth it at all.
>>
I have a friend who works at the factory. I go to his house and cop 4-5 pints for free whenever I want.
>>
>>7819624
Yeah ill buy a stupid unitasker for something I eat a pint of a month
>>

Thank God, there's too much food out there that's inspired by taste. What we really want is food inspired by architecture.
>>
>>7820160
4,5-5€ here in Italy.
As low as 2,5€ when it goes on sale.

We only get like 4 different flavors though.

ben and jerry's is gross - too much shit, waaay too sweet. i opt for haagen dazs for basic ice cream since it's not loaded with crap, and if i wanna splurge (or i'm stoned) i get talenti

>>7817993
tillamook is disgusting and the only people who like it are people who grew up on it. i like hamburger helper because i remember eating it as a kid, but that doesn't make it good
>>
>>7822617
Actually I didn't try tillamook til I was 25. I really just like their chocolate malt.
>>
>>7822828
Have you tried Tillamook 'go 'za?

Honestly any ice cream other than gelato fiasco is just over to me. Nothing comes close.

Talenti at the bare minimum.
>>
