I just cooked up a bowl of chili beans for lunch myself. I thought I had a package of kidney beans or at least pintos to work with, but I had neither so decided on black-eyed peas and, surprisingly enough, I like them better than either kidneys or pintos. This will be my go-to bean for chili beans from now on.
