Is there a cooking starter kit?
Moving in my own first apartement next month and need to start cooking for myself.
Have you tried a kitchen?
It's everything you need located conveniently in a single room

equipment?
chef knife, cutting board, a 10-12 inch pan (preferably that can be moved from stove top to oven), spatula, a couple large mixing bowls

There isn't. But I recommend the following as very basics.
Skillet
Saucepan
Frying pan
At least 3 pots of various sizes
Ladles
Wooden spoon
Spatula
Anything else can be bought based on need. No sense in having an item if you barely use it.
Holy fuck the users here are harsh.
Thanks
And don't forget measuring cups/spoons

the normal tablespoons you eat with are exactly a tablespoon
you can get a ~2-3 cup marked measuring cup i guess. i wouldn't even bother filling up cabinets full of autist measuring bullshit. just taste your food as you cook and adjust/learn

hit up goodwill for a starter set.

>the normal tablespoons you eat with are exactly a tablespoon
but they're not. the "normal tablespoons you eat" vary greatly in volume depending on the brand and model.
>> just taste your food as you cook and adjust/learn
Agreed 100%. Ingredients vary in flavor/potency. It's silly to follow a recipe blindly. Taste and adjust as needed.
Can opener.
Colander.
Learn the basic functions of a stove and how to fry things.

You mean digital scale, right?
What idiot would measure anything in cups these days?
