Chinese food isn't for everyone, OP.

Authentic Chinese food is literally just whatever garbage meat a street food vendor could find in China and deep frying all the life out of it and covering it with sauces to hide the odors.
When you order lemon chicken at a fancy Chinese restaurant you are ordering their equivalent of street food, and that's 99% of a chinaman's diet in Asia anyway.
I wonder if there is anything in chinese restaurants that are worth getting other than the orange chicken

Funny. I HATE the orange chicken. Lemon is the only acceptable fruit flavor on chicken. I know people just order it because it's the chicken by itself without a mess load of veggies. I don't know if they've done away with mandarin chicken altogether, but not all restaurants do it. It's another option if you want only chicken except it's even better because it isn't coated and fried. It's just grilled chicken and sauce.
Their walnut shrimp is pretty good but once again I think it's just a promotional thing a few times a year.
Panda Express is the worst Chinese I've ever had. I consider myself to have a wide palate but it was straight up nauseating.
It's not a question of authenticity, nor would I know the difference if it was. It's just bad. If it's legit Chinese, then it's legit bad Chinese.
