How do you guys make popcorn?

I usually do it the same way. 2 tablespoons of canola oil in the pot on high, put in a few kernels until they pop, pour in half a cup of kernels, shake until all are popped. Put a bit of melted butter on, sea salt, shake it up.

I have gotten back into popcorn and I was thinking of buying a whirley-pop popcorn maker (with the hand crank) and also buying some flavacol salt that apparently is "movie theater experience" salt. Anyone have experience with these things?

For some reason I haven't had popcorn in like 10 years. It feels pretty stupid, because I love popcorn.

This is that nerd Brown talking about popcorn.

I used to eat a lot of microwave popcorn but I haven't in a year or so. I should get on the popcorn kernels.
Sometimes I like some paprika, or some curry powder on my popcorn. Too easy to load it up with tons of butter though.

go to the movie theater and buy an extra large bucket, then leave it in your car for a few days so it goes stale.

I have one of those whirley-pop things. It's pretty nice. If you really want a "movie theater" experience, try using coconut oil instead of canola.

Pretty much exactly the same, although I use rapeseed oil, and simply coat the bottom of the pot. Also I don't worry too much about shaking, just an initial shake to cover all the kernels in oil. So much better and cheaper than microwave popcorn.

Rapeseed oil is the same thing as Canola

I've got this hand crank stove popper thing.
Follow the directions on the bottle of kernels, pour the oil and half the seasoning in with the corn, crank it until there's like a pop every second (take it off early, rather waste a couple than burn all of it) and add in the other half of the seasoning

I use coconut oil and butter to cook it, then salt and cyan pepper.

I slightly cover the pan with butter, let them pop, then add a bit of salt and about 4-5tbsp granulated sugar, then mix them in the still-hot bowl to melt it.
