I have more counter space available compared to floor space to spare.
My kitchen is crowded enough as it is.

because i have a galley kitchen. i just clean as i go so that i have enough counter space to work with.
Cause I'm a cheapass. Should probably decide between getting a kitchen cart and making a counter extension sometime soon tho. Kitchen is too dang tiny

Check Criagslist. If you live near yuppies they page list Elfa carts for pretty cheap.
