Is tisane discussion allowed? I've been drinking a lot of Rooibos, I enjoy it's flavor, and lack of caffeine content. does anyone have suggestions for what sorts of tea it would blend well with?

The alcohol would mostly boil off if you bring it up to 100C like you need for most teas.
I got served tea by a chinese couple after trying to sell them a vacuum cleaner.
They reckon you need fresh green tea, put the leaves in the cup and keep adding boiling water. The second cup is the best. Drink it in the morning to hydrate.

brewing it by time is pointless, brew by scent and you'll get much better tea. Puerh is easy to brew, especially since you can use boiling hot water off the bat. just keep it in something like a cigar humidor or something that has moisture so that the cultures can survive properly.
