Anybody here bake? I'm not much of a baker but I just recently got a bunch of Wilton frosting tips from amazon. Gonna make a batch of cupcakes soon and frost them like pic related, which seems to be easy enough.
What's your favorite baked good? Breads? Tarts? All are welcome.

Sadly it's expensive unhealthful on a daily basis.
My favorites are italian bread and gingerbread.
I like making my version of cake salé. It's like a savoury scone/cake/cupcake, with cheese, ham, peppers, sweetcorn, mushrooms, chicken, etc.. The secret is 3/4 can of condensed mushroom soup, which makes it not so crumbly, and very light and moist. You can throw pretty much anything you have in it.
For bonus points, you can top it with an improvised coconut frosting that has the lightness and texture of whipped cream (but uses no sugar) from cornstarch, canned coconut milk/cream, and butter.
You can make it in any shape you want, including the the round "cake" shape for a savoury birthday cake, but I couldn't find any pictures.
What are your favorite sponge cake recipes? I made a really delicious joconde a while back, the almond meal makes it extra moist and delicate. Pic related is an opera cake I made with joconde, I infused lemon and rose into the sponge layers.

Baking powder. You could also use self-raising flour, I guess.

Did you bake that? How did you make the flowers, and what are they? Fondant?

Yeah its a wedding cake I made for a friend.
The flowers are made our of gumpaste and floral wire.
For the roses gumpaste is cut into the shale of a star then rounded and shaped around each other to make a rose.
For the purple flowers each petal is shaped and wired individually.
It's a fun but tedious process.
I'm still not very good.
I'm mostly a simple line cook but people assume I can bake too so I started learning
