India Pale Lagers are the it thing right now, guys.
All the flavor of an IPA but lagered with a long cool rest to take away the mouth pucker and really develop those top and mid notes and improve the warmth of the body and the finish on the palate.
IPAs are just over, guys. Kid stuff, really. Drink IPLs and join the rest of the grownups

IPLs blew up last year and then pretty much faded out. The style can totally be good, but considering a lager is inherently less flavorful than an ale, it's not doing anything to IPAs popularity lol.
Black IPA is a dumbass name. I've seen some get autistic about it and call them American Black Ales. Either way as a long time Schwarzbier fan, I love that Black IPAs are getting recognized. I live in a pretty small town and two of my local breweries are making good ones.

I've had a few and IPLs are mehhhh. I just don't think the new wave hops work well with lager bases. Noble/European hopped lagers are great though.
