We do this in the restaurant all the time when some cockholster orders a steak "well done". That fucks up the workflow in the kitchen; we can't tie up a spot on the grill for that fucking long without delaying other people's tickets. So, we deep-fry the steak to cook through then throw it on the grill to put some marks on it.
