That is totally in your control not the childs. My 18 month old son eats everything but eggs. My 4 year old is an adventerous eater. We dont fight about food or force it. No special meals. Eat what family is eating or dont, the choice is yours kiddo. Small children being picky is a power play you cant let them win. It isnt about food. Do not engage.

Exactly. Some children are prone to having more stubborn natures in regard to this behavior than others, but the pattern is the same, and practically occurs with every child ever.
I remember when I was a kid, we'd visit McDonalds once a year, in the early summer, the day schools ended and vacation began. It was always a huge occurrence compared to what it is today, something that really marked the beginning of summer. Similarily, between Christmas and New Year's eve, we'd do the year's only visit to a pizza place, as long as semester school scores were decent. And unsurprisingly, they always were back then.
