I can tell you what my grandfather's last meal was during his palliative care at a hospital. Makes me wish we sent him off with a proper meal, a nod from a warden, and some effective drugs.

Truth be told he wasn't very hungry. His organs were failing him and he knew he couldn't truly enjoy eating, he understandably didn't like hospital food after enduring it for weeks on end.
We went to a restaurant within a few blocks and ordered him a shrimp cocktail. All he asked for was a beer, but we couldn't bring alcohol so he had to settle for non-alcoholic beer. He wanted a cig too but no. He maybe finished a quarter of the soggy shrimp cocktail and half of the beer before he asked for the sedatives and slipped off slowly.
It was really fucked. Some of the inmates on death row had a better experience than he did. Like that guy who got to watch the LOTR trilogy while eating surf n turf. Me? I'd have crab legs.
