Order fountain soda without ice, it comes out of the machine well chilled. Most people think it comes out room temp and add a bunch of useless ice that waters it down, but this isn't true. If you get it without ice it's still cold and you'll get about 50% more drink.

When heating up water put some salt in it to boil faster. I do this all the time and it definitely works.
If you run out of meat, you can always soak an orange peel over night and then fry it in some oil for a substitute.
