What's your favorite kind of ramen?
Tonkotsu forever.

miso's better you weeb faggot
>>7401067
>Miso
Wow. Look at this hipster
>>7401028
Good taste OP, I love Tonkotsu Ramen including Katsu.
Shio master race here.
>>7401028
I like the Akamaru Modern at Ippudo. It's like a slightly stronger tonkotsu or something.
>>7401028
>implying 90% of ramen eaters don't eat instant noodles
>>7401028
Tonkotsu is pretty fucking based but I like to mix it up by getting variations like shoyu tonkotsu or chill and garlic tonkotsu
Taiwanese soups are much better than ramen
>>7402409
Okay.
This is a thread about ramen though.
>>7401028
Not a huge selection to choose from where I'm at, but pic related is about as good of ramen that I ever had
I get the karakamen at ippudo because I like spicy. Am I missing out by not getting akamaru modern or whatever the other ones are called? Also, any chance I can make this at home? Shit is so good goddamn
>>7402537
You should at least give the Akamaru Modern a try once. Worst that happens is you like it slightly less than Karaka-men. I like the spicyness, but only when I'm feeling it that day for whatever reason. The Akamaru feels like a nice balance most of the time.
I have no idea if you can make it at home. I'm sure you could get something workable going. I feel like the effort required to do that isn't worth the payoff.
I've only tried Ramen a few times but tonkatsu and black garlic have been my favorite. I like salty and savory and don't enjoy miso at all.

seafood shoyu ramen
because im not a pleb
>>7402324
If the shio is good tonkotsu, miso, and shoyu will be better
jap flavors are so bland. the only instant one I've had that was really good was a tonkotsu ramen that had a slice of pork in it.
>>7401028
I love tantanmen
The best vegetarian ramen I've had is at Ramen-san in chicago, I'm living there now, trying to make my rounds and I can't find anything better than Ramen-san. I want to try Hi-five ramen soon.

>jap flavors are so bland. the only instant one I've had
theres your problem
>>7402806
Your instant ramen had a slice of pork in it?
Was the pork freeze-dried?
Syouyu is the origin and ultimate.
Second is chicken white soup.

Tonkotsu. But only if the fat has been properly skimmed off.
>>7402972
I went to a ramen shop who served the bowl warmed up so that the fat did not coagulate to the top as quickly as non-hot bowls. Which I think was pretty awesome.
>>7401028
It's all good good, of course, but nothing beats miso.
I haven't tried many varieties of true ramen, but from what I have tasted, I love tonkotsu the most. Miso and soy suck balls.
>7402437
Eh, that stuff is only good if cooked with lots of extra mushrooms and add in some kimchi. Even then, it's not considered ramen. It is a Korean instant noodle.
>>7402823
Usually instant tonkotsu you have to buy frozen. The broth and meat is frozen , there are no powders and no need to add water.
>>7402979
Except tonkotsu
>>7403012
Doesn't 'instant' usually refer to freeze dried food that you only have to add hot water to?
>>7403029
I don't know, but I personally consider dumping everything In A bowl and microwaving it for 5 minutes to be instant. I may be using the wrong terminology. Maybe it should just be called frozen ramen.
Some frozen ramen actually tastes really good. It is just extremely high in calories.
Pic related is what I get locally.
>>7403038
Well, frozen is at least way better than the cup noodle crap.
