What are some hyped up foods that are NOT overrated?
hard-mode: no In N Out
Shit on a shingle
Cream gravy and breakfast sausage on top of halved or cubed biscuits
>>7395411
Shit on a shingle is cream chipped beef on toast you fucking moron.
>>7395414
Well i guess that just my personal variant
>fucking moron
Rude tbqh
In n' Out
Anchovies on pizza.
Toro.
It's just so damned hard to beat fine sushi.
>>7395317
Pic related has a lot of hype around it but lives up to the hype in every way
>>7395317
avocado
>>7395317
Pho.
Kogi Taco Truck in LA.
Kbbq in general.
Habit Burger.
>>7395423
Shit on a shingle definitely refers only to chipped beef in gravy on toast. Biscuits and gravy is still delicious though.
>>7395561
Toro is the fucking best.
Pizza.
>ramen
>french press and pour-over coffee
>bibimbap
>southern barbecue
>>7395716
Bibimbap and Southern barbecue have always been overrated in my opinion.
I know people will disagree, particularly with barbecue (and yes, I've had the real stuff in a few different styles), but it just never seemed THAT good.
>>7395716
I once ate so much bimbambap in one season that it makes me sick on the stomach eating it because of the sauce or something.
If I retained my tastebuds, then I would say yeah it's the greatest dish ever created next to clam chowder and auth'za.
>>7395762
>auth'za
What's that?
>>7395317
There's a place in southern California I miss called Tommy's Burgers that sold everything with this super thick bean less chili.
>>7395773
I'm in SoCal so I should probably try this, thanks.
>>7395765
Authentic pizza pie-ah.
>>7395550
I might aswell just put salt onto my pizza for cheaper
>>7395773
Was this placed called Original Tommy's?
>>7395886
You could also try soy sauce, or olives, or if you're an absolute madman, Parmesan cheese.
Because, you know, everything salty just tastes like salt.
Nobody rates it, but after eating one, the cravings will consume you for the rest of your miserable lives
>>7395716
Coffee in general
>>7396127
Nobody calls coffee in general overrated.
If anything, burr grinders and a french press would be worth the hype.

>>7395411
what you've described is called
"Biscuits and Gravy"
it's quite common in America
>>7395423
It's not a variant. You just made biscuits and gravy. SOS is chipped beef gravy on toast. It is really good though
>>7395736
A damn shame you've only ever had shitty bbq.
>>7396186

>>7396759
Why do fat guys always have those t-shirts with the pocket?
>>7395561
Did you mean otoro?
>>7395317
In N Out is overrated though. It's just marginally better than Wendy's mostly because In N Out uses fresher ingredients.
>>7395414
chipped beef in not ground beef
You fucking moron
>>7397559
What are you trying to say?
>>7397594
chipped beef is not ground beef
You fucking moron
>1 letter typo
>HALP IM LOST I CANT UNDERSTAND
>>7397605
I was confused because nobody mentioned anything about ground beef, and because ground beef has no relevance to the discussion at hand.
>>7397642
>Shit on a shingle
>no relevance to ground beef
Shit on a shingle is made with ground beef.
>>7397669
>Shit on a shingle is made with ground beef.
it's made with chipped beef, nancy boy
>>7397679
Maybe if you're a subject of the United Cuckdom. In places that matter, aka the USA, it's made with ground beef. Since Shit on a Shingle is a US name for the dish, it makes sense that SOS refers to the US style of the dish, which is ground beef.
>>7397679
is that some 'nara on toast?
>>7397691
No, it's not. Chipped beef is an American product and originally how shit on a shingle was made.
>>7397691
"In the United States, chipped beef on toast is commonly served to servicemembers of the United States Armed Forces. It was thus considered emblematic of the military experience, much as pea soup is in Finland or Sweden. In American military slang it is commonly referred to by the dysphemism "Shit On a Shingle" (SOS)—or, "Stew On a Shingle", "Same Old Stuff", "Something On a Shingle", or occasionally "Save Our Stomachs"."
The wikipedia page. And every other google result says chipped beef. Must be feeling pretty dumb right now, huh?
>>7397691
the U.S. Army used dried beef (where soldiers called it SOS), so again very wrong girlie man
>>7397691
I'm an American, I've never heard of shit on a shingle. Stop being a retard
Rice, I'd say.

If you look at the fucking manual, it has a recipe for dried chipped beef, too. Maybe some people make it with ground beef but chipped beef is the most common and what people usually refer to as shit on a shingle.
>>7397749
you are fag

>>7397515
It's so that they can carry around ham everywhere they go.
