Lactose free is sweeter so it's perfect for coffee and porridge, but not great for mashed potatoes because you need to add more salt.

Whatever's cheaper? Lactaid is really expensive for what it is. I'm sure there are other brands but still, I feel like it isn't worth it. Almond milk definitely no though.
