Mushrooms and pineapple is a good combo. Spinach and tomatoes are amazing if available.
You can throw pretty much anything on s pizza and have it taste decent. The only thing that didn't work well that I tried when I worked at a pizzeria was feta cheese and barbecue sauce. I think it causes done kind of chemical reaction that burns your mouth.
Sliced onions can be nice.
I used to make a "hash brown pizza" with mixed diced fries, onions, and green (bell) peppers, with ketchup as sauce. I always made those square.
Chains are bozos and skimp on the cheese.
