I suspect the answer to be "Italian people". I live far up north. Winters are long, growing seasons are short. As such, I would most likely spend the five years migrating southwards while using and discarding preservatives along the way.
If I stayed here in Finland, however, I suspect I would be using a great deal of dried peas and canned green pea soup. Heck, I just bought 8 cans of green pea soup concentrate for 5€ to restock my rainy day food supply. Other than that, root vegetables and potatoes would form the fresh basis of my diet, while the rest would be game. If I had the time to gather cows, I'd be going the Irish way, primarily subsisting on milk and potatoes, and supplementing that with fishing and hunting.
Or I might be living on Russians, instead, now that I think of it. Yeah, if zombie apocalypse occurred and all the states in the world disappeared, the threat of nuclear retaliation would disappear. Yeah, that'd work. I'd make a new, fashionable lifestyle out of finding Russian survivors, killing them and eating them.
