Hey /ck/

I was wondering what the most efficient plant is, that is: Best ratio of water/energy consumption to edible mass, measured in calories.

My first guess was something like an oil palm because, obviously, oil. But the palm is huge and you only harvest the fruit, so I thought maybe some algae or sprouts are more efficient since you eat the whole thing instead?

Grains are generally the most efficient.

How about measured in value to the human race, and the answer is clearly soy. It's a little too amazing for its own good.

You have to consider long term farming as well. Sometimes a rotation of crops or companion farming is superior.

I have no idea how valid this crop structure is today, but the idea always appealed to me.

soy has a large amount of phytoestrogens which
1: promote infertility in men
2: promotes the growth of breast cancer in women and men
3: promotes the spread of ovarian cancer in women
4: if in significant quantities, can cause boys to halt puberty

albeit, none of these effects are noticable in small quantities; but a great number of consumable items (body washes, water bottles) contain chemicals that also act like estrogens.

This isn't a concern, I know a lot of today's feminized, dickless "men" have a lot to worry about in terms of gender identity, but that's a result of social factors, lack of exercise, excessive alcohol consumption which suppresses testosterone, and the fact that you are a huge faggot.

harvest index is the term used to describe yeild : total biomass ratio

Even considering calories I would assume that hybrid corn or dwarf wheat has the highest calorie efficiency. The amount of fat calories from a few ton tree would be irrelevant. It may be another grain or legume.

It's either sugarcane, cassava or sweet potato.

Dumbasses saying wheat or corn should leave

There is no proof of three sisters ever actually being a thing. Corn was planted in beds and squash were planted on peripheries with beans but never all at once.

Its like retards who honestly believe whole fish were used to fertilize a corn seed. Never happened.

10 grams = 1/2 cup? How?
And can't they use 100 [units] to have a % comparable to any food with different serving size?

Maybe rice if they ever manage to make it C4.
