Why does everywhere outside the northeast always put so much cheese, veggies, or bread on a hoagie compared to meat. The meat is the main part.

absolutely, but the key component you are missing is Baton Rouge is a fucking shit hole. so much so, that I am a LSU student and I am transferring to University of Massachusetts just to get the fuck out of this hell hole. New Orleans to Baton Rouge is an abrupt sad change.
