Pic related is about $1000 bucks, but it is apparently the best smoker in the game.
Who /smoker/ here? Do you have a big green egg? Is it worth it? What are some based smoker recipes?
I have a charcoal/wood offset smoker. Superior space for lots of food, but harder to control temps.
I built my own, also the patio below it.
I like to build things, probably why I like to cook so much.
Build your own OP, you'll end up a lot happier in the long run.

cooks illustrated rated the weber smokey mountain a bit better at slow and low bbq, but the big green egg is pretty awesome. I have one and you can also cook stuff at very high temps which the weber won't do as well. Pizza's & steaks at 700 degrees F.

It's a stove.
You have box where you burn shit, and then you have box where smoke from that box goes. Add a chimney, a hole for a thermometer and a pair of wheels, and you're done.

If you want the best smoker, come to Texas to a shop that builds smokers and have them custom build you one.

I did the same and My Family was pretty impressed as well. Which recipe did you use? I used the following:

Big green eggs are just status cookers. Anyone that has one doesn't really smoke/grill, they were just memed into buying one because they have a disposable income.
You could buy a much better smoker for less and use the rest your money to buy wagyu cuts.
