post recs for cookbooks to get
looking for gifts, but also pretty interested myself
Ramsay 3 star chef
First half is a lot of glossy pictures of food and some information about his restaurant. How the chef samples every loaf of bread each day etc. The second half is a collection of some of the iconic dishes and recipes used in his 3 star restaurant.
They arent easy to cook and require a lot of skill, as well as some expensive ingredients. However, there is some really nice knowledge in there. Its slightly dated now, but given that I picked my copy up on Amazon for £3, and its in very good condition its well worth getting.
Also, its a very nicely made book. Its much bigger than most books.

A simple art indeed.
Not necessarily a cookbook, but a great read if you're trying to understand food more
I got a copy of this one earlier this year. Its pretty interesting.
As a gift I'd only get it for someone who I know likes cooking and does so regularly.
Are the links still active for all the advent calendar cookbook posts from the last couple years? I haven't checked the archive in a really long time.

Hey man, I know time just seems to go by faster and faster the older you get, but it's definitely been more than a couple of years since hearts abandoned us.
>no idea if the advents are still up, but don't see why they wouldn't be
>have them all on a hard drive somewhere that probably doesn't even work anymore

Yeah I'm glad all the books are still up though. I'm amazed they haven't been purged yet, the oldest folder is from 2009 and it still has everything.
