I need a breakfast opinion. Marionberry jelly on an onion bagel. Good or no?

>this is what adding salt to your pasta water does
I stopped putting salt in pasta water months ago and there's no difference
Is salt in pasta water a meme?

It does nothing but bring the water to a boil slightly faster.
OP here. Marionberry with butter on an onion bagel is the shit.
Over salting your water actually makes your pasta saltier because of absorbtion. I don't salt my water unless I'm intentionally trying to add additional flavor to something or want to quickly blanch something.

I've had the opposite effect- adding salt elevates the boiling point (chem class) making it take longer to boil
Salt is a meme

The change in boiling point, while technically true, is so small that it's irrelevant.
The reason for salting the water is to add flavor to the noodles. Nothing more, nothing less.

Yes, that's the point. The pasta tastes pretty bland without the salt added to the boiling water.

I don't taste any difference pham
Also my sauce is already salted
