Unless you suffer from some gastric-motility disorder coffee should be all one needs to take a hefty shit in the morning.

my anal sphincter is a little on the lax side, so I use these to grease the payload, since I'm caffeine intolerant.

Prunes are awesome. I don't even have pooping issues and I eat prunes frequently. They're so sweet and chewy and delicious.
Also, FYI, you can use prune puree instead of oil or butter in baking recipes (you use half as much prune puree as butter/oil). Makes for a really rich, chewy cookie or brownie, and good in things like spice cakes and quick breads.

>I don't even have pooping issues and I eat prunes frequently.
Gee, I wonder WHY you don't have pooping issues. :-P

What I MEANT is that I've never had pooping issues, even before I started eating prunes. My bowels have always been regular as fuck. Once a day, like clockwork, and occasionally twice a day, depending on how much fiber I've eaten.

I've always liked prunes. Does anyone have any recipes using prunes? I imagine they could work with a lot of savory dishes.

>be former baker
>have friend from my old job who now owns her own bakery
>sells "prune strudel," though hers is more like brioche rolled around a stewed prune filling, like a cinnamon roll... only prunes rather than cinnamon; still has cream cheese frosting, though
>no one buys it and she wants to remove it from her menu
>suggest she rename it to "plum rolls"
>she does
>sells like mad
This is gonna sound like an angry foreigner, but I'm a friendly foreigner, so don't think me rude here: why are so many Amerifriends frightened of prunes? They're delicious! Where does this unwarranted suspicion of delicious, delicious prunes come from?
They're like hugs for your tongue.

Prunes are known as old people food that is specifically for loosening the bowels. It's just a stigma. Everybody likes plums, though.
If you like prunes, try making a salad from grated beetroot (boiled, obviously), prunes, walnuts and sour cream.
It's outstanding.

these sound fucking rad, i've never seen them in a store near me though

most prunes are made from these types of plums - how delicious do these things look?

They sell those prune plums at my farmer's market every year (late spring, early summer) they are fucking AWESOME. I've never tried drying them myself, but I buy a huge bagful of the plums, and they're gone in just a few days, everyone in the house fucking loves them. Somewhere in my picture files on my other computer, I have a pic I took at the farmer's market of giant bins full of prune plums. They were such a beautiful color, especially in mass quantity like that.
