It's called "farofa". It's a dish made of cassava flour mixed with other things, usually bacon. Think of a really dry stuffing.
At our school dining hall it's corn flour mixed with vegetables because it's cheaper. Most foreigners don't like it, and they compare the texture to sawdust. If you mix it with rice and beans it becomes a big food block.
