Awards from whom and for what? I like the hood and smooth surfaces. I would've done a lot different for practicality as well as luxury, but it probably wouldn't look as good or be as energy efficient as a result. It looks nicer than mine in many ways, regardless. Old pic. I put in new appliances a while back but haven't taken any new pictures. Gas range. Not high end, but beats the hell out of the one pictured. Still needs a hood.

My sociological analysis of that kitchen:
>Female
Butterflies, flowers, decalc
>20-25
Small appartment
>Lesbian
Has cats (cats salt/pepper shakers) and likes blue colours
>Without partners
Again, butterflies and cats
>Living in a major North American city, probably where it snows and gets cold.
Picture of a beach
>Doesn't cook very much, buys frozen or already prepared food.
Oversized fridge compared to stove.
>Employed in a female environment (nurse, education, hair dresser)
Butterflies and slowery table shit.

Fridges can only tolerate a certain amount of heat before they stop working, that's why you can't build computers in them or leave them open all the time. Putting hot shit next to them, especially if they radiate heat to the sides, is a surefire way to fuck them up.

Only by today's standards. When it was built, washing machines and tumble dryers etc weren't exactly common-place. It was however built with an indoor toilet which was not a cheap or shitty (heh) thing back then.

Hi grandma!
>>

Its durable and I like it, but it is overdue for a refinish after about 8 years since the initial treatment I did. Actually its been overdue for about 2 years now. Will be doing that in the next few weeks since the weather is good for open doors right now.

>>7187357
haaa. That was not my doing. Always just had the wood top showing. Recently acquired a wife. She wanted a cloth and cover. Pretty much every thing else was my own since she only moved in a month ago. My dad installed the cabinets/block/sink stuff some time in the 80s. This is my parent's old apartment kitchen. Black stove replaced the white one I put in 6 years ago or so. Fridge was a free hand-down.

>Poor

We didn't have a working oven in our house for almost two years, and at one point, we had to use a hairdryer to defrost our freezer so that the food in our refrigerator wouldn't rot. It took my family about to years to afford new appliances. Look at all the kitchen shit you have. You're nowhere close to poor.

cozy af

if you got rid of the microwave and put it somewhere else, you'd have so much more counter space to work with
>>

how much it all cost?

Do you have a pantry room?
Is there a mini bar to balance that wine rack?
>>

Thanks. As you can see in both pictures though, I've sadly nowhere else the microwave can go. Same with stuff like the toaster. Shame really, I'd like more worktop space.

Yes, the cabinet space is taken up by other things, as well as part of a storage closet and a lot of shelf space in the garage.
I've moved the chamber vac out to the garage, though, which helps a lot.

you put that cat in the pot just to take this picture, the cat has no incentive to go into the pot on it's own.

maybe it's a cold day and the pot is still warm after the canning was done.
also, if you put an open box on the floor near a cat then 10/10 times that cat will jump in the box. it's just waht they do.

You can really tell from these pics who actually cooks and who doesn't.

That said, I can't post my kitchen because I broke my phone and that's the only camera I have to use. But, I can tell you my kitchen is too fucking small and cramped for the amount of cooking and cooking equipment I have. It always looks messy, even when it's perfectly clean and scrubbed down. I can't wait to move in a few months.
>>
>>7172009

Probably not. I cook everyday and I keep my kitchen clean.
Nothing is left on the counters that isn't being used right then.

I hope you don't take this the wrong way, but your kitchen looks like the set for one of those slasher films where the homeowner is slowly creeping around in, having just learned that the killer is already inside.

Speaking of fire hazard, I actually lit my slow cooker on fire once because I set it on the back burner and turned the wrong one on.

Bongs? What?

And yes, a large amount of British houses have the washer and dryer in the kitchen.
>>
>>7195686
Brilliant.

Reminds me of the times my mom decided to start storing things in the oven without telling anyone. Once she decided to store a bunch of boxes of cereal in the oven. I turned the oven oin and obviously started a fire since I wasn't expecting there to be fucking cereal in the god damn oven.

Another time she decided it would be a good idea to store a bunch of tupperware containers in the oven since they were "taking up too much cabinet space" and of course, she neglected to tell anyone so my dad turned on the oven to preheat it for something and ended up melting all the tupperware. Thankfully he noticed it fairly quickly and turned the oven off and yanked all the melting plastic out before it created too much of a disaster inside the oven.

To this day I still don't understand why my mom would randomly decide to store things in the oven, but it did teach me to always check inside the oven before I turn it on.

It's much less civilized than the American setup, which is to have the washing machine in the living room next to the Doritos dispenser.

Good god. Before you cook something, completely clean up the last thing you cooked. This isn't hard and it prevents your kitchen from looking like that.

Same way for me when I was younger. Tiny house. I had to share a bed with my brother. No working oven, refrigerator problems like yours.

It was worse because my sister was schizophrenic and my mom was kind of a hoarder.
