Lets get started.

Get ready for some fucking opinions.

>Too much goddamn liquid
>Holy shit nigger, saute your onion on high heat to caramelize and set aside. Those are RAWWWWW
>I love ginger, but you should have used cumin instead

I'd certainly eat the end product, because it looks bad, but not that bad.

5/10, it's the best I can do.
>>
>>7079744

Judging by the color and the packaging that was some kind of premium ground beef. Probably extra-lean. It was probably a lot more expensive than basic ground beef.
>>
>>7079773
>>7079777
Can neither of you read?
>>

Thanks Chef....
>>
>>7079782
I didn't need to read. I could identify the extra-lean ground beef by its color.
>>
>>7079782
I can read.

I saw his reasoning behind some of those things.

Those are my fat opinion cocks that I'm flopping out there.

I'm too self absorbed to NOT post them.
>>
>>7079797
Look at OP's pic, there is cumin.
caramelized onions are disgusting, as stated by one of Op's pics as well.
how on earth do you get to 'substitute cumin for the ginger' like what?
>>
>>7079802
Substitute your tongue for my dick, bro.

I missed the cumin on OP.

Caramelized onions are not necessarily soft. You can get the outside caramelized and keep the texture intact.
>>
>>7079804

Sauteed onions =/= carmelized onions

>>
>>7079592
if you was planning on using your own spices why did you bother buying the kit you stupid bitch, you could've just bought the shells on their own
>>
>>7079810
That is just a box of shells
>>
>>7079810

Speaking of dumb shit, who on earth buys pre-made taco shells when you can simply deep-fry corn tortillas.
>>
>>7079820
Not remotely the same texture
>>
>>7079824

They're exactly the same texture unless you suck at deep frying.
>>
>>7079825
Not at all
>>
>>7079825
Incorrect.
You're not very good at this are you? Why are you here?
>>
>>7079830
>>7079833
What do you people think they make those out of?

You can get wonderful crispy shells by straight up frying corn tortillas.
>>
>>7079807
OP here, this is seasoned meat in chip shell, not tacos. Also ginger is delicious. ty ~
>>
>>7079839
They're not the same texture you fuckwad. Are you stupid?
>>
>>7079876

If you've never deep fried a corn tortilla in your life why are you even posting in this part of the conversation?

A standard corn tortilla, deep fried, is exactly how crunchy taco shells are made.

And yes, I know that's not the same texture as as restaurant-style tortilla chips. But that's not relevant for two reasons:
1) we're not talking about chips
2) restaurant-style tortilla chips are made from special extra-thin tortillas, not the generic corn ones that we're talking about here.
>>
>>7079895
>And yes, I know that's not the same texture
>They're exactly the same texture unless you suck at deep frying.
>>
>>7079914
>And yes, I know that's not the same texture as as restaurant-style tortilla chips
You missed off that important bit at the end.
Why would you purposely do that?
>>
>>7079914

What's wrong with your brain, anon?

Take a corn tortilla, fry it, and you get the same texture as a taco shell.

Tortilla chips have nothing to do with the subject at hand.

Taco shells are made from ordinary corn tortillas. Tortilla chips are not. that's where your confusion is coming from.
>>
>>7079895
What the fuck? You go off talking About restaurant styled chips but yet we're talking about store bought taco shells
>>
>>7079927
>You go off talking About restaurant styled chips

I was trying to identify the other anon's confusion and that was the only thing which came to mind.

>> but yet we're talking about store bought taco shells

Yep. I said that clearly in the post you're replying to.
>>
>>7079930
Point is anon, you're retarded as the brain dead cum dumpsters posted around here. Store bought shells and tortilla turned shells are not the same texture. Now stop trying to move goal post when you get blown the fuck out
>>
>>7079930
Ok, lets say we are done being douches for a second. I know that a freshly fried corn tortilla shell will be infinitely more delicious than the store bought stale things. Is there a trick to getting them in that shape? Do you have to fry them like that or can they be shaped while still warm?
>>
>>7079944
Tongs my man. You shape them while you're frying them

Have you ever fried a corn tortilla anon? I can assure you that they are exactly the same texture, because that's how taco shells are made.

>>7079952
this. I just use two sets of tongs to hold them in the taco shape. You can also buy a special tool for this purpose if you're into gizmos. Pic related.
>>
>>7079961
>>7079961
You know, this whole time i thought we were talking about flour tortillas. Lol details.. They mean a lot
>>
>>7080107

who the fuck would make a taco shell out of a flour tortilla?
>>
>>7080124
You're too young to remember:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l_3TXhM7d30
Taco Light from Taco Bell. The flour tortilla absorbed more of the cooking fat (lard in the 80s) than corn shells. It was far from "light" but that's what they called them. Also they were awesome, not sure if a normal flour tortilla would work, the Taco Bell ones tended to be brittle and every taco was always split down the middle at the bottom. But it makes a really tasty shell. If you have had flautas then you'd know fried flour tortillas are goooood... they just aren't strong enough for a taco that wont break.
>>
>>7080159

Yeah, I've fried flour tortillas before. My point was that how on earth would anon assume that's what we were talking about when it's highly atypical. Everyone knows that a crunchy taco shell is typically made from a corn tortilla.
>>
>>7080159
I love fried flour tortillas. Either to eat with mexican food or sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.

I've never tried making a taco with them, but I've made nachos with them.

OP, try the crunchy tostadas rather than those tacos is you want to bring it up a notch in flavor. They're cheaper as well. From Charras to Mission, even the baked ones taste amazingly more corn toasty and authentic.

Might enjoy a cuban picadillo ground beef recipe and some tostones (plantain) based cups for variation one night too.
