Many pesticides are absorbed by the plant and there is no reason for a person growing roses to limit those kinds of pesticides as their flowers are not typically eaten. I don't think just washing them off will be sufficient if you want to cook with them.

Keep in mind that "organic" doesn't mean pesticide-free. It means a different set of pesticides may be used. Organic produce may still have pesticide on it, it's just not those on a specific list.

Duly noted. I have rose water but since i am making cupcakes with it i was afraid that rose would not be strong enough of a flavor and be overpowered so i wanted to reinforce it with rose butter. Do you know of any way to ensure that the rose flavor does become to mellow?

I doubt you'll have a problem. IMHO rose water is very strong. I'd be more worried about having too strong of a rose taste rather than too weak of one.

I have a rose bush growing in my front yard.
Is something like this safe for consumption or are there roses that can be bad for you? They're red when they bloom, not pink or anything.
Also we don't use any pesticides or anything, but the guy next to us does landscaping. It's just putting down grass every month or so though. I don't know if they use pesticides or if it could get in the rose bush either.

Of course this isn't for now anyway, it only blooms for a couple weeks in late June.

Do you not have any roses around your house? Its been a warm November and some of mine have started blooming again. Consider getting some next spring and if you're in an apartment get you some 7gal pots and plant them in that.
