noodle is the correct word, spaghetti is defined by the size of the noodle. For it to be pasta it needs to be a specific type of wheat. So you can have spaghetti that is a pasta, or spaghetti that is a noodle.

May I suggest using Knorr A touch of Taste instead?

Why? It makes your food taste better.
>>
>>7042757
Fuck off it's pasta.
>>
>>7042859
All pastas are noodles. Pasta is a subset of noodle.
>>
>>7042865
Noodles need 5% egg composition.
Pasta doesn't.
>>
>>7042865
>>7042882

both these posts are completely made up nonsense.
>>
>>7042882
Are you dumb? Pasta just means it's a kind of noodle from Italy.

Doesn't matter if it's made from durum wheat, buckwheat, wheat or if it has eggs in it. If it's Italian it's pasta.
>>
>>7042882
Pasta needs to use durim wheat.
Noodles don't
>>
>>7042891
The italians disagree.

Pasta = unleavened dough products made with durum wheat, used in Italian and other western cuisines. Has a strong, elastic texture and firmer bite

Noodles = ching chong pasta made with much softer wheat, used in Asian cuisines. Much softer bite

ONLY BURGERS WILL DISAGREE
>>

Noodles can be made from rice, too.

Also it's a squares/rectangles thing.

Italian here.
Pasta is generic.
Spaghetti -> pasta
Cous Cous -> pasta
Ravioli -> pasta
Tortellini -> pasta
Soba -> pasta
Udon -> pasta
Trofiette -> pasta

Then Pizzoccheri made from buckwheat aren't pasta?

Tagliatelle or Parpadelle made with soft wheat and eggs aren't pasta?
>>
>>7043124
Didn't you pass a law in the 60s defining pasta as being made from durum flour, and all other noodles could not be labeled pasta?
>>
>>7043128
Stop being pedantic. If it's Italian it's pasta. If it's Asian it's noodles
>>
>>7043128
My understanding is that Italy, whom we all can consider the defining authority on pasta, claims that for a noodle to be pasta, it must be made from durum flour.
>>
>>7043134
There is a review made in 2001 anyway
for the nomal italian pasta is anything made with any flour that is eaten in any normal day as first plate, the legal version say something different

Yeah sounds like when you're selling packaged pasta it needs to be made from durum wheat. Egg pasta can contain 3% soft wheat and fresh pasta can contain more soft wheat.

I wish I could say you guys should know better, but...

No one outside yankland uses the word 'noodle' to refer to anything other than ching chong asian pasta-like things. As usual, Americans are being oblivious to how strange they sound
