Can we get an armor thread started? Haven't seen one in a while.
What materials do you use? Are you looking into trying a new technique? What new armor project do you want to start that's intimidating you? Have you found a cosplayer that is inspiring you to go further?

You could go to a website like medieval collectables for stuff you can just buy. or look around SCA forums to find some armorsmiths for custom stuff. Understand though that it isn't going to be cheap. A friend of mine got a helmet and chestplate custom-made and it ran him about $700 for just that. It looks great though.
