You use tinted plexiglass for the screen. As >>8860602 said, you can see out but no one can see inside.

Yup it's in the manga during the 'Titanic' arc (not the actual Titanic but many Titanic jokes were had).

Depends on if you have the frame ready or not, I haven't heard any horror stories yet but there are a lot of ways you can really fuck yourself up by removing the inner parts of a dead TV.

Too bad I just found out about these because my dad just tossed a fuckload of them out. He did arcade machine repair and custom builds and would use old monitor components since most clients wanted the retro visual quality (plus it greatly lowers the cost). Pretty much the only thing that didn't get used was the actual shell.

Some western Europe furries seem fairly similar but that could be because the online presence is dominated by US and more people will follow a style than create a new one.
