Pls help. Bunny Milk and Snow Strawberry in has proven particularly elusive despite a gull commenting that they're 'common' last time I posted. When it does come up it's always the wrong size (usually an L, I need an S), cut (I want the ribbon jsk) and/or the wrong colourway. Did a search the night before last *nothing* literally woke up the next morning and one had gone up then went absurdly cheap in the 6 hours I'd been asleep.
Also Moonlight Dance, which I haven't seen come up in forever, appeared and sold really quickly too.
I'm stoked that the rerelease of Holy Lantern includes a high waist jsk because it was always the special set version that I wanted.
My wishlist is finally drawing to a close. After this I don't intend to look at any new releases. Just want to check these final beauties off my list.

I always think of it as I would with a trade. If someone was offering me that item to trade, and the only way I could get it is if I got rid of the particular item in question, would I do it? In my experience, when you get something you enjoy and would wear more, than you don't regret selling the other thing. I think it's a symptom of the same entitlement that has people dumping their entire wishlists in here, desu. These threads are shit compared to even a year ago, but further back than that when people only posted their one actual DD there was rarely this kind of attitude where anons turn their nose up at help.
I don't know if it's indicative of new lolitas/the current community as a whole or just the way this board is now, or what but it's definitely noticeable.

I'm not sure if making a new thread is the best solution, but it will certainly will help people weed out what's really important.
I think we could also benefit from people being more specific (exact cuts/colors, level of priority, possibly price willing to pay, etc) to save disappointment from both sides.
People also need to remember you are being watched. There are people wanting to help/potential sellers looking in this thread, but they're not really going want to help you if you have a not so great attitude.

I agree. I am identifiable by the one dress I used to post before finally finding it this year, not a fucking 20-item "maybe if I eventually have the money wishlist". The threads first started out being a way to find things you literally could not get your hands on and people had been searching for often a number of months to years as well as having money set aside (apart from penguindrum anon, who thankfully has disappeared in the last year or two). We used to have separate ones. Wishlist was like...discuss your favourite dresses, find other things you liked off other anons' lists, maybe throw in a link if people said they were actively buying. This is my dream dress and i certainly will pay $500 for it. that's how much they sell for on LM.
And with the shipping paid Berry River is finally mine! Feels good.
Now I just have to decide what to do about the Fairy tail set on LM. If I buy it there will go my budget that I was planning to use to buy more things for coording and maybe a dress depending on the price, but if I wait to see if the price goes down someone else may get it.

It's shitty. I have 6 items on my wishlist but they're all hard to find and beyond that I've decided to forgoe new releases, only buying blouses or accessories so I get what my heart is set on. I've literally had the same 8 or so tabs open for months, checking several times a day and use this thread as a bit of backup help, rather than *expecting* everyone to do my shopping for me.
I love these threads because I love seeing people who truly want a dress get it, especially when it seems half the people buying up all the new releases don't even want them, leaving them to sit in a closet or sell them for 3x retail after one wear.

The split is totally unnecessary, and if you want it to change things and take the DD thread back to whatever you think it was that was so sacred to you, then just make it clear that's what you want via calling out people who are ungrateful laundry-list assholes, rather than whining at a wall and making a new thread. If it's clear that the majority of people have sort of a DD thread culture that makes the thread go and that they wish to be restored, then the wishlist thing will phase out on its own.
