Recently I've been looking for more conventions to go to, but I'd rather not spend time on my cosplay/spend money travelling to go somewhere a bit far for a convention in a high school gym or something like that. Any suggestions for good conventions (besides obvious ones like Comic Con or Anime Expo)?

Just go to Animecons website and look at the cons near you. google the con names and see what the attendance was last year.

Dragoncon is legitimately one of the best conventions in the us, it is definitely worth going to at least once
