I would recommend getting a black one, if you can afford it and mainly wear gothic. Some dresses with thin fabrics like chiffon could let white shine through, just like a white bra can show through a black shirt.
Also, when you move, your petticoat could show as well.

so I'm a plus size lolita, but I really love gothic. I do have a few pieces in my size, but I really would like a lot more. imo I'm gothic at heart but have some more sweet or gothic-inspired sweet stuff in my wardrobe since I am also interested in sweet but I've been finding it has a lot more stuff that's plus sized friendly.
I'm not opposed to making my own stuff either, which is something I'm trying to get into right now this upcoming winter break (I don't have a lot of time to do it during school), but I would love to know if you guys know the names of any specific dresses or brands with generous or custom sizing. From taobao I know surface spell and miss point do custom sizing and I know mmm's divine cross has really friendly shirring (in fact I do own one of the colorways)
