Let's talk about Hetalia. Post good and bad cosplays, cringey stories, good stories, or whatever.
I'll post some stuff I have to get this started
I always feel that the rep the hetalia fandom gets is so outdated; nowadays, most weebs have left, or any that join get bombarded with what not to say and do - ie, Nazi/rape/ship hate/balatant racism ect. The people that have stayed have grown with the fandom, and due to very little people actually leaving, leaves a small but mature fanbase.
Of course, there are exceptions, but on places like Tumblr and a lot of hetalia cosplayers at cons are nothing but respectful and educated. I feel like it's a good place to be, if it lasts.
I want to cosplay hetalia so damn bad but don't have any cosplay friends :( it's not very much fun to cosplay alone, I once dressed up with my brother for a con lol

I was part of this Hetalia fan group on Facebook, hoping to find cool stuff like art and videos. Ended up getting a twenty some year old who was talking about how cute war was and then yelled at me when I told her that war isn't cute, a bunch of weebs, and cringey people in general. I tried to share some videos I used to love with the group and the other members were upset because the videos I shared were more serious and not funny.

most ask cosplay blogs are cringey as hell desu. I know of maybe 1 or 2 that are bearable.
I'm so relieved that when I was a cringey teenager, tumblr and webcams and shit weren't a thing. I'd definitely run an awful ask blog and base my self esteem around the zero asks/reblogs that I got.

I agree with this, the hetalia cosplayers in my country has changed for the better, they're not as super annoying and weeby anymore. I'm glad the whole "hit all prussias with frying pans" and "stuffing white flags in peoples faces" has died down

We aren't the best, this is from 2012 though. I'm the Latvia and the Russia and the Belarus are actually both younger than me. I got my cosplay from Milanoo so it was really shitty quality. I want to redo Latvia sometime, but I don't know.

We all know there are a lot of bad hetalia ask blogs but are there any good ones? I personally really like the one's Doku is in charge of (or helps filming for) since her gifs are always really good quality with nice light.

I fell out of the Fandom a few years ago and I've always missed it. When I was active, LiveJournal was the place to interact with the fandom. Now I wouldn't know where to go. Tumblr?? Where can I go to get back into it

Yeah, tumblr is pretty much the main hub for the fandom now. It's still very much alive there, albeit smaller than it would've been in say 2009 or 2010. It's a real shame about the Livejournal though, having everyone and everything in one place alone felt cozy and made everything so much easier.

Seriously this. I'm still seeing people post on Tumblr that Hetalia fans are all racist weebs (and it's always the kpop fans claiming this), and it's like, are you just looking at LJ comments from 2008? Most of the Hetalia fans I know are chill as fuck.

Hetalia surprisingly has some of the quickest fan translations out of all the series I follow. All the mods for this are over 20 and I recognise some of them from LJ.
Have any of you heard of Hamiltalia? It's a crossover between Hamilton the Musical and Hetalia. I think it's fairly new, but I'm enjoying it so far and the musical itself is really good.
