Didn't even get the Crow SSR due to ranking so low cause of a con. Waiting on the full versions of these designs to be released, potentially have a full group (minus twins) interested, although I can't see all of them sticking with it.

Is it? I got the actual game play bits down but it's pretty dialogue heavy with talking to the bands and stuff so I just felt like it wasn't really worth it? I could play the levels and listen to the music but otherwise I was just missing out on a ton of stuff unless I searched for translations after.

That shit's expensive, and you can't rent it for just a day so you'd have to make space for it/have somewhere to put it and think about transport too.

I can't and shouldn't go to AUSA anymore so I plan on doing at Katsucon. I don't have any other band members though. It seems like people have watched the show.. but not too many expressed interest in it to cosplay from? Maybe I'm just missing a group or something

You can rent for a single month for about $50 which is nothing compared to renting out a studio to shoot in. And you don't need to keep it the entire time you can return it when you're done.
Plus, if you make the prop you have to store that too unless you throw it away immediately.

Are we both talking about Japan here? You can go to somewhere like hacostadium for even less than $50, and all the rental prices I've seen for double basses are more than 10k yen. A prop like that would be easier to store too since you don't have to worry about it falling over etc.
Didn't think about returning it once the month was up though, I'd personally love to have a double bass camp out at my house for a month.

Admittedly I only looked up random US prices I could find on the internet and assumed it'd be similar for Japan and I'd only heard about fancy studios that require reservations months in advance. It just seemed odd that they were able to get a real drum set but had to cobble together a bass.

It's a vest, it's hard to fuck up, literally all you have to do is not pick shit fur to have it look decent (and then not apply blotchy fake tan and do their make-up horribly or draw on the tattoo with a blunt pencil eyeliner or wear normal jeans or inaccurate boots). Admittedly finding fabric/fur I was happy with for the Rom vest I made was hard but I live in a country with terrible fabric stores, most of these people probably have access to the perfect shit and either didn't look hard enough or went for the first 'suitable' thing.

Been planning to cosplay Wendy but kind of stuck on the tail. Anyone have any fabric suggestions for the base and the foam(?) I guess that's what it is, without making it look bad?

did you want to achieve the see through effect for the tail? maybe layering some different colours of chiffon or organza could be a thing. same thing with the 'foam'. maybe try gathering, or making them into little ruffles then hand sewing them into place? also for her stars, highly recommend adhesive vinyl. used some of the sparkly stuff for my Shuu coat and it worked like a damn treat.
