I actually don't know if it's dependent on that, because I've only ever gone through one route, but yeah, keep bumping up her intimacy and lust, and keep going back to the shop and buying shit. You'll get it eventually.
Also, I know for a fact these were present as of 1.4.0, the earliest version I've played. If you have an earlier version, there's a small chance you might be SOL.
