If you were in Lawrence's situation and without knowing where your journey will lead to, would you have been able to endure how Holo treats you?
Especially in the first let's say 5 books. Would you be able to bear Holo's very special way of saying "You fool. I love you too, but I don't see a happy future for us, and after all I'm the proud Wisewolf of Yoitsu", with her constant teasing, jokes and jibes?

I was in a similar relationship with an ex, endured her wierd (Holo type) love.

Oh, of course. The thing is, Holo is extremely smart so she'll affectionately poke your weaknesses, like Lawrence's social skills beyond trading.
I see her as someone who would like an intelligent companion to keep her company and challenge her. Though she wouldn't dismiss a simpleton either. If I recall she had said she had met one, I can't remember.
In any case, absolutely, because even if I don't know my destination, the journey certainly wouldn't be boring.

Probably, yeah. It's a trait I found endearing, otherwise I probably wouldn't have liked Holo in the first place.
Moreover, I'm pretty thick skinned and I try to stay upbeat. Playful teasing isn't a dealbreaker for me; some people would probably consider it more healthy or exciting to be able to tease each other and joke around like that.
And as the other anon said, traveling is exciting. The adventure alone is worth it, moreso if you've got a companion like Holo.
